What Will Happen If I Mix 2 Hair Colours

What happens when you mix two colors of hair dye?

First of all are they the same type of hair dye. Because the level of lift will change if the developers are not the same. If your just talking about the actual colors (assuming they are not Highlift or have any kind of lightn boost)send me the name of the color in letter number format and the brand so I know if it's a demI-permanent or semi or just your average permanent. For example:matrix (brand)socolor (color line)504 n (500 series is a super pigmented color that has both lift/deposit action to blast open the stubborn grey hair and really stain it, ideally for 50%-100% grey)(the ā€œnā€ after the 504 indicates the undertone being neutral and the ā€œ4ā€ is the level of color, which is dark brown)this color Is mixed 1:1It's sold in 3oz tube and its technically 2 applications per tube. Good money saver.to mix a secondary color the level of the color: 1=black 12=white blonde would either darken or lighten the pigment quantity. Then the undertone which is the letter marking will now create a new color, or cancel out a color just like complimentary and colors on a color wheel do (ex yellow + violet)If your mixing brands and developer volumes it is not recommended because each line is only formulated to work with that line, but I've done ignoring in the salon and it's fine if you know what your looking for and don't mix a higift with metallic color like henna and bleach or your looking at a chemical haircut. Aka hair melting off.If if your just mixing like blue and red then same as a colorwheel you will make purple. Based on the type of blue and red it will be a different purple. Ex: true red and a aqua will lean towards a more red based purple.i don't mind telling you exactly the color you will make if you send me the exact name brand and color level like I listed above. let me know the number of developer also if it's not all from a box Hair color. Ex: 20vol.

Can you mix hair colors together?

"Colorists" as they're called in the salon world take pride in being able to mix shades and come up with the perfect tone. Of course if you have no experience in mixing colors this may or might not be a good idea. Here's why:

1. If you are going to mix colors, you need to mix from the same brand. Different brands come up with their chemical set-up differently and mixing different brands will get a bogus result.

2. Brands have a color scale of their own. Meaning that they could have a black that is maybe 2N or a blonde that is 10G. Those numbers represent the color and the tone so N is natural G is gold, If you are unfamiliar with their scale the color you are trying to mix may have a base that mixes with another and then you got orange hair! For example, let's say you mix a brown with a blue base, and a brown with a more red base and you are a redhead - BOOM you got a funky dark purple/brown going, NOT a good look. Colors have bases that make them, you have to take this into account when mixing.

3. Speaking of your natural color, you have to determine what that is. There is a scale from 1-10 (1 being the darkest to 10 being the lightest. This determines what color your hair will turn out.

4. If you must "experiment" and don't want to get it done professionally, do a strand test. Meaning clip a piece of hair (not a chunk) and test your color out on the section you're testing. Remember to rinse and dry it, then hold it up to the light to get what the result will be.

Take these things into account and go for it. Use professional color though and not cheap stuff

How do you mix 2 permanent hair colors?

If you want equal parts purple and burgundy mix it 50/50. If you want more burgundy than purple mix it depending on how much more burgundy you want. Maybe 60/40? Mix it depending on what color you want. Personally I recommend you go to a professional. There's a reason why we are licensed. There is a reason why we spend years learning color formulas.

What would happen if I mix two different colors but the same brand of hair dye together?

I have Revlon color-silk, number 34 which is a deep burgundy, and I have number 48 which is just regular burgundy. I dyed my hair with the deep burgundy before and it came out really cool, reddish purple with some black and even a little blue. Then when my hair faded after about four months, it became more reddish and brown, getting closer to my natural hair color. I found regular burgundy gives me reddish purple tints but stays in longer because of my natural hair color is reddish brown. What if I mix the deep burgundy with the regular burgundy? I wanted to see what color would come out. I don''t want to waste hair dye though :(. My other question is, I bought two boxes of black color-silk hair dye. I wanted to do streaks with the actual hair dye. Does anyone know how to do black streaks? I will NEVER bleach my hair though. So does anyone have a clue how the mix might come out and also how to put in black streaks?
It'd help me so so much!!! :)

What happens if i mix different brands of hair dye and color developer?

don't worry, that first answerer's account will get deleted eventually. mixing the 2 different brands of peroxide won't make a difference as long as they're both the same volume. the fact that wella requires double the peroxide won't affect it either, the peroxide is pretty much the same. just combine the 2 together so it equals double the peroxide of wella color. good luck!

What happens if I mix brown and red hair dyes together?

This is an FAQ !Now, Red and Brown are just different palette shades of each other! However, if you mix RED to BROWN, ORBROWN to REDYou will only get a brown color! Now, if you use More of either there are possibilities that you may end up with a middle-ish shade : Something like this - A LIGHTER BURGUNDY!

What would happen if i mixed red and black hair dye together?

Please realize that hair color is not like mixing finger paints. The black is very dominate and will override the red. There could be a small hint of red in the concoction but doubt it. Red mixed with browns can be quite beautiful but not with black. To get a black red mix it would be quite interesting to do diagonal slice foiling through-out the whole head of hair with these colors and they will stay separate yet mix on your head when your hair hangs.
