Wifi is not working?

So I ve had wifi trouble and my I phone and my PS4 are saying I am connected to the Internet, but whenever I use a app with them, it fails to work. I have reset my router multiple times. Reset my phone too and I still don t know what s up. Every so often though for a minute my wifi will turn on and work but not for long, anyone now a solution?

Wifi is not working?

For example when I am watching a video on youtube, the video starts buffering. The buffering stops when I click on the wifi button on the button of the screen that opens up the list of available networks.
Please note that I am not turning on the wifi by pressing that button. That button just shows me what networks are available.
Sounds weird but that is what is happening.

Wifi not working?

There should always be two cords going into the router/modem.
One is a power cord and is usually skinny and black. You can tell it is the power cord because it is plugged into a power outlet.
The Second is the ethernet cable. It is a thick cable and is usually blue, white, or yellow. This cable should be firmly plugged into the router/modem and also will go into an ethernet port in the wall or a box on the wall that your internet provider sets up.

If the lights are blinking a red/orange that means that something is wrong. Try unplugging the power cord, counting to 15 and then plugging it back in. It may take a minute to start back up.

If the lights are blinking green/blue that usually means that it's working, at which point the problem is probably with your phone.
