Computer Geeks - Why don't my attachments open?

This problem could be caused by one of these three items:
1. Internet Explorer 8
2. Yahoo's All-New Mail
3. Anti-virus software

Here are the corresponding solutions:
1. Re-install Internet Explorer 7 and wait for Microsoft to fix IE8.
2. Go back to Yahoo Classic Mail.
3. Disable browser add-ons added by your anti-virus software.

More details on Solution 3:
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Manage Add-ons, then Enable or Disable Add-ons.
Scroll down through the list and look for the name of your AV software (if you have a Norton/Symantec product, look for Norton Confidential) and select it/them.
In the lower left, click on Disable, then OK.
Close all Internet Explorer windows. When you re-open Internet Explorer again, it should work. You should not have to re-start your computer.

How do I open my computer case?

In the picture, the side on the left doesn't need to come off and you're going to just slide the right side off. The battery you're looking for isn't on your HD, it's on your motherboard. It looks just like a little button battery that you find in calculators and stuff. The motherboard is the big board that you're going to see when you look at it straight. Be sure to use an antistatic wrist band or just touch an unpainted metal part of the case before you do it and every minute while you're doing it to make sure that static electricity doesn't build up in your body and you end up damaging your computer. Also, don't do it on carpet, do it on tile or something like that.

Here is an example of a wristband. http://microcenter.com/single_product_re...
I would just get a cheaper one though unless you're going to be doing it a lot then get a more expensive one like I have: http://shopper.cnet.com/system-accessori...

The battery will look something kinda like this: http://upload.ecvv.com/upload/Product/20...

How do I get my PC to automatically open Yahoo on startup?

One way would be to set the Yahoo! page you'd like as your browsers home page, then everytime you're browser opens, that page would come up first - automatically.

But, if you just wanted to see the page open in a browser right after you start up your PC, or just after you log-in ... then here is what you can do.
1. Open a browser and browse to the page you want to visit at start-up.
2. Use your mouse to grab the icon next to the URL in the address bar of your browser, dragging this onto your desktop. This creates a shortcut to the webpage on your desktop.
3. Grap that shortcut's icon and drag it onto your 'Start' button, and keep on holding onto it as you navigate your start menu ... 'All Programs' ... 'Start Up'.
4. Drop that shortcut into the 'Start Up' group.
5. If you'd like, delete the shortcut from your desktop.

Everytime your PC starts or you log-in, everything in your 'Start Up' group is executed ... and for a shortcut, that means opening the target for you ... which in this case, is the web page you wanted to see.

Good luck!

What should you do if Yahoo! Mail won't open in Google Chrome?

I would like Yahoo to take a running leap up my not yet sweaty arm pit, the NO NOTICE especially for the advance notice they gave about closing an email account I had over 10 years. Wish great health to all the family members who are higher ups with yahoo. I am sure they give great concern to what their mismanagement has done to the lives of tens of thousands. May G O D fu in the end, and your damn dog, 2!!!!!
