When I Overclock My Cpu Borderlands Boots Up But Crashes

AMD Radeon HD 7690M keeps crashing?

I just recently got a new laptop with the AMD Radeon HD 7690M graphics card. But it seems that when I play some games my graphics card keeps crashing. I've been playing Borderlands, and my cards drivers crash every so often; especially when looting chests. I'm running the game practically on all low settings right now and I would quite like to fix this problem. The weird thing is that I've been running Kingdoms of Amalur practically all on high and it runs fine.
I've also tried to update my drivers and such, but when I go to AMD, my graphics card model isn't found. I know it's pretty much a renamed 6770M so should I don't know if I should try those drivers. I have tried the auto detect program that AMD offers, but it says my product and os cannot be found.
I'm currently running on an i5 and have about 6 gigs of ram.
Thanks

Metro 2033 crashes EVERYTHING!!!!?

What's your power supply, and what are the rest of your system specs (GPU and CPU mainly). I knew someone who once built a computer with a poor power supply. Windows installed fine, watching things on YouTube worked fine, and then upon loading a game, the PSU cut out, and his windows installation completely screwed up. He did this 3 times before getting me round to diagnose the problem (but by that point, his GPU had died in the final PSU surge).

Just a thought. If that's definitely not the case, boot into safe mode, and use DDU, "Display Driver Uninstaller". Let it completely uninstall your display driver, then reinstall it. And if the issue persists, then it's got to be another problem in your system (possibly even a damaged install of Windows itself?)

Update: The PSU should definitely be fine. Do you have either your CPU or GPU overclocked? There's a small chance the cash is due to an instability

Update 2: Still run the stability tests. Sometimes a stock clocked CPU or GPU may still be unstable, for whatever reason. And my GPU, for an example (even though an overclocked example), can play any game at 1.3GHz core clock. EXCEPT Borderlands 2, where everything would crash. Sometimes instability isn't always evident at first, so it's always good to check

Update 3: Download Prime95. You'll find instructions on the website of how to use it, but it's fairly simple. Run that for 4 hours, If the CPU passes with no errors, download OCCT, select the "GPU : 3D" tab, put shader complexity to 7, Memory used to 1850, and set to DirectX11. Enable "Error Check", and run for 4 hours. If either test give *any* errors, then that component is not fully stable

Can I downgrade my motherboard bios?

Hi! So, I play Borderlands 2 daily and I was thinking about overclocking my Pentium G3258, and to do that I had to upgrade my bios on my motherboard because version 1.2 wasn't compatible with the G3258, but 1.4 was. So, I get in the motherboards boot menu thingy, and it checks online for firmware and it says 1.4 is available, and I download it and it flashes it. And the overclock works and it actually feels faster which is nice. It's what I wanted, but then I try playing Borderlands 2 and oh lordy, it likes to freeze now. It had never froze, or crashed or had any problems while I was on 1.2. I go back and I reset the overclock and I just put things to default. BLs still freezes on me. I'm wondering if I should/can downgrade my bios to 1.2 again, the overclock isn't worth it if I have troubles with games. My motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H81M-DGS%20R2.0/index.us.asp
