When Is The Last Time The Patriots Had A Losing Season

When was the last time the New England Patriots were under .500?

2001 they started 0-2 and won SB 36

EDIT: 2002 they started out 3-0 and lost 4 in a row. That was the last. I'm not counting losing the opener because well...... sometimes you lose the first game, oh well

When's the last time the patriots lost 2 games in a row?

The last time the New England Patriots lost 2 games in a row was during the 2009-2010 NFL season. The Patriots dropped 2 in row in Weeks 12 and 13 of the 2009 season, on the road to the New Orleans Saints 38-17, and to the Miami Dolphins 22-21.

Later that season, the Patriots dropped their final regular season game on the road to the Houston Texans 34-27, and lost a Wild Card playoff game the following week at home to the Baltimore Ravens 33-14.

Are we seeing the last season of the Patriots dynasty?

It is difficult to watch this year’s version of the Patriots and not recognize that the talent level has fallen off from previous seasons. Brady is still a very good quarterback , regardless of age, but has missed his targets far more than in prior years. Much of this is surely attributable to the dirth of talent at the receiver positions. Brady’s most reliable outlet, the incredible Gronk, is definitely hurting , which has tremendously affected the entire offense. Management left Brady with no real downfield threats which resulted in the Josh Gordon gamble, a gamble that has now backfired. The defense appears slow and really has too few impact players to make a difference. Their recent drafts have not provided the players needed to replace the current aging stars. Even mediocre teams no longer seem to fear the Pats, The killer instinct that helped make this team the greatest in football history has vanished. The credo of New England has always been, “ next man up”. Problem is, the “ next man up” does not have enough talent to keep this dynasty alive. The Pats are still capable of beating anyone on any given Sunday, but the biggest difference is that they are also capable of losing to teams that they would previously dominate. It’s been a heck of a run, but the dominance that we’ve witnessed for the last 2 decades is not sustainable.

When will the New England Patriots ever have another losing season?

The chance of this happening is very slim. The circumstances have to be right! The Patriots musn’t be doing wellTom Brady must be retiredRob Gronkowski must be injured, not on the Patriots anymore, or suspended for several gamesThe new Patriots QB (Tom Brady’s heir) must be really terribleBill Belichick has left the teamThey screwed up on multiple draft picks (cough**Michel**cough)Now we take into account the fact that the Patriots have like the easiest division in the entire NFLSam Darnold must turn out to be one of the best QBs of the decade and the Jets must have a very strong team around himJosh Allen must be brilliant at the helm for the Bills (we all know that ain’t gonna happen anyways) and the Bills don’t have anything else besides this future draft bust so never mind thatRyan Tannehill gets on track and the Dolphin’s defense becomes Steel Curtain 2.0I would say that at least 6 of these 8 (really only 7) conditions must be in effect for the Patriots to have a 7–9 record. Now for a worse season…impossible…

Why did the Patriots lose on Sunday?

In my opinion the team has not been correct since the beginning of the season, there have been several games that they looked just not prepared. Gronk has not been Gronk this season and neither has Edelman. Our defense is spotty at best, giving up way too many big plays. And a lot of this I put on the shoulders of Bill Bellicheck, let way too many valuable players walk with no real solution as how to replace them and instead they go out there and wing it. Defense can’t tackle and offense can’t catch. You would think that with all that Brady has done for this team that they would surround him with better players for his final years.

Are the New England Patriots the best team in the NFL in 2016?

Statistics back it up. As of today (11–2–16) the Patriots are 7–1, the best record in both the AFC and the NFL as a whole. They have the most powerful offense and a defense that will keep them in games and prevent games from turning into shootouts.Since Bill Belichick became the head coach of the Patriots in 2000 the Patriots have won 4 Super Bowls, played in 10 AFC Championship Games, winning 6, have won 13 AFC East division crowns, have only missed the playoffs 3 times, and have had only 1 losing season (2000, Belichick’s first season, when they went 5–11). They have averaged a record of 12–4 for every season since 2000.Statistics do back it up. No other NFL team has a comparable record. Since 2000 the New England Patriots are simply the best team in the NFL.

Which AFC team has lost to the Patriots in the regular season but beaten the Patriots in the playoffs in the same season and with the Patriots under Bill Brooch and Brady?

This has only happened three times, and one of those is polluted, because the Patriots actually split games in the regular season. When they have been eliminated in the AFC playoffs, it’s more often than not been a team that also beat them in the regular season. In 2013, the Denver Broncos lost a regular-season game to the Patriots, 34–31 in OT, but then beat them 26–16 in the AFC Championship Game.In 2010, the Patriots split with the New York Jets in the regular season (lost 28–14, won 45–3), then lost the rubber match in the divisional round, 28–21.In 2009, the Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens 27–21 during the regular season, but then lost to them 33–14 in the first round of the playoffs. There has also been an instance where an NFC team lost to the Patriots in the regular season and then avenged the loss in the Super Bowl. This was, of course, in the 2007 season. The Giants lost the regular-season finale to the undefeated Patriots 38–35, but then beat them 17–14 in the Super Bowl.

Are the New England Patriots the greatest dynasty in all of sports?

The New England Patriots (2001–2017) are one of the three great dynasties in NFL history, at least in the Super Bowl era. The others are the 1970s Steelers (4 Super Bowl appearances and victories in the decade / 6 years to be precise, playoffs 8 years in a row including twice before their first SB win), the 1980s-to-early-1990s 49ers (5 Super Bowl appearances and victories, 4 with Montana in a 9 year stretch and 1 with Steve Young 5 years later - missed playoffs twice in 14 years). The Patriots currently have 5 Super Bowl victories and 8 Super Bowl appearances in 17 years. It’s an impressive period of sustained success where the Patriots:(1) Have never had a losing season;(2) have not seen a season without double digit wins since 2002;(3) have missed the playoffs only twice in 17 years, once with an 11–5 team that started a backup QB for 15 games;(4) have played in a conference championship game 12 times, including 7 straight; and(5) have won their division 15 out of 17 times, including 9 straight. It’s an impressive era of sustained success. The median year in the Brady / Belichick era is making it to the AFC Championship. 8 out of 17 seasons, they have played in the Super Bowl. The biggest argument that I believe puts the Patriots above the other dynasties is that they have done this in the salary cap era, which is supposed to make it harder to achieve this sort of sustained success. It’s hard to compare dynasties today to when leagues were smaller (e.g. the Celtics won 11 out of 13, but in in much smaller league than today’s NBA or NFL), which is a major reason I’m using the Super Bowl era. In other sports, I’d put some Yankees’ dynasties in the conversation, the 1980s Lakers, the 1990s Bulls, the early 2000s Lakers, and the modern iteration of the Spurs (though less so the past couple years). In hockey, you have the 1970s Canadiens, the early 1980s Islanders, and the late 1980s Oilers. At some point, you have to ask whether it is most rings in the shortest period of time that is the most important mark of an impressive dynasty or the ability to be consistently competitive over a long period of time while winning championships. If it’s the latter, it is difficult to compare most of the other dynasties to what the Patriots have achieved, but the 49ers come pretty close. If it’s the former, you can argue for the Steelers, but they missed the playoffs 8 out of the next 12 years and didn’t make it back to the SB until 1995.

What year did the Patriots go 18-1?

2007 superbowl 42 not sure why I have two dislikes but ok.
