Ken Adelman, a consummate Washington insider and member of former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's Defense Policy Board, was one of a number of high-profile neoconservative-aligned politicos who turned against their erstwhile political champion, President George W. Bush. In late 2006, these politicos began denouncing what they said were the administration's failed strategies in Iraq—strategies that they and other neoconservatives had played a heavy hand in designing and promoting.
