Fairy tail has a new season coming this year which will be the last as far as manga is concerned Mashima already told he is not going to continue the manga. The manga ends at NATSU, GRAY ,ERZA, LUCY and HAPPY going in a 100 year quest on which Gildart went. Anime series will end on that too and this will end fairy tail completely.

Why don't they continue Fairy Tail?
well, the way the two episodes after the Fairy Tail Zero arc set it up it looks like they’re at least open to animating more at a later point.you have to remember it’s becoming more and more common for anime series to take a break instead of adding in filler arc to keep it running until they can go back to the manga canon or ending it on a gecko ending with no plans to continue when they start catching up to the manga too much.they ended the Tartaros arc, they did the Zero prequel arc, they did a little lead in to the next arc, but they probably wanted to be able to run it for as long as possible once they started up again, which means waiting for the manga to get either to the end of another major arc or the end.considering we have a second movie coming up soon and the manga is on its final arc I expect it’s pretty likely we’ll see news of a new season coming up soon and they may even time it so the final ep of the anime airs not that long after the final chapter comes out too.EDIT:it’s been confirmed finally that it’s continuing next year. Will Bleach or Fairy Tail animes be continuing or have they stopped?
A lot of people have been jumping to conclusions or making assumptions, but the fact of the matter is, nothing has been confirmed 100% about either one yet. When Bleach ended, none of the people or companies involved hinted that it would ever be back. Anything you hear about it actually being on hiatus is purely assumption and hopeful speculation from fans. It was NEVER confirmed by anyone involved with the show that it was just a hiatus. That doesn't mean that it will definitely never be back, anything is possible, but since nothing has been announced or even hinted at, there's no way to know at this point. A lot of people have figured this means that the anime is just going on a break, and that might be exactly what it does mean. However, "isn't over yet" could mean anything. It could mean that there's just another movie or OVA coming out. It doesn't necessarily mean "the TV series is on hiatus but will be back once the manga gets farther ahead." This is what people are assuming, but it's never been confirmed. People are making assumptions and guesses and spreading rumors as facts, but the real answer to your question is that nobody knows with 100% certainty if these two anime are over for good, or if they will be continued someday, because nothing has ever been confirmed one way or the other by any of the people involved with them.
