Metal rattling noise in Chimney when windy... Help!?
The following may not be your problem , but I had a rumbling noise that seemed to be coming from our chimney. I couldn't find anything wrong, but one day I was in the yard, and heard the sound. I looked up and there was a woodpecker hammering away on the metal chimney cap. I guess he was signaling his presence to all the other woodpeckers in the neighborhood. My neighbor said he has the same problem. I haven't tried to do anything about it yet, but suppose some of those prickly things they put on buildings to keep pigeons from landing and or roosting might work. Good Luck
