Well for less than $1000 you sure won't get everything that you want but you can get close. Mac is out of the question; too expensive. Even bad specs will be overpriced. So your path should go with PC's. You probably should get a customizable PC laptop because you get to control the price of it with what you want. If you want the built in camera and mic, then you might want to try HP Pavilion. But keep in mind you still can't get the highest specs without going over $1000 so don't get ripped off by HP and get only what you need. You can look for other, cheaper PC's that may not have the camera and such on them but still are sufficient. It is easy to get a good PC for a cheap price, so don't worry. Macs are nice, but you can't afford them. Maybe if you could spend a little more, you can get an O.K. Mac. Media is Mac, after all. So it comes down to price and media. If you can push the budget, then Mac is the thing for you, judging by the information you gave. If you really can't afford it, then you have to look for a PC that meets your requirements. Good luck!
