I actually love that trench! You could say it's loud, I say it looks like art, so I would wear it that way. I understand what you mean about not being able to wear it in your everyday life, it's a piece you won'[t wear constantly, but I also think you could get away with wearing it quite a bit more than you think. I would pair it with some dark, skinny jeans or black skinny pants and a white or black tee, or even a tight-fitting sweater or turtleneck. I would avoid matching the yellow unless you do so with a cute pair of yellow pumps. That would look fabulous. The only other color that would work for shoes, is a black or a red. But, only if the rest of your outfit is really simple. A really cute olive or black rain boot with a simple sweater or white shirt would look cute too if you're going for, say, a walk to the neighbor's house. A few options.I really like the idea of pumps. It just isn't the kind of coat that you can wear without dressing for the coat. If it's cooler where you are, you can pair it with a simpler black felt or faux-fur fedora or simple cap would look darling. Keep the accessories and jewelry to a minimum.
