Where Can I Insure My Parrot And How Much

Where should i sell my parrot?

i have a Orange Winged Amazon Parrot. Due to my new job, and new flat i am unable to keep him :^( ...

I am starting my new job in 6 days and will be doing 12hour days, which is along time for my parrot to be alone in the flat. As for the flat, my new landlord will not allow me to have my parrot in residence. i have pleaded with him but have come to the conclusion that it is best for the parrot to move on. I am not very happy about this but i cant put my life on hold for my bird can i??

anyway, i will have to sell him and just wondered what your views were on finding it a good home. i dont just want him to go to anyone, i need to know it will be well looked after, even keep in touch if possible so i can see how he progresses in his new home. Obviously i would be alot happier to get some money for it but at the end of the day i want whats best for the bird, so i would consider giving him away.

anywhere online that i could advertise...? I live in the UK (North Wales)

Thanks ;^)

Breeding senegal parrots?

I've been offered a breeder pair of senegal parrots. I have tried to look up breeding information on them but it seems to be far and few between. I raise cockatiels and am just getting into quakers. Are senegal parrots much different from these 2 species? are they easy to breed or difficult? would they breed in a mixed species room or do they need a more private area? How many times per year do they breed and what is the clutch size I can expect? any information is appreciated

How can I stop my parrot from throwing his food all over?

Unfortunatly that is the way birds eat. It is part of how they insure a constant food supply in the wild. The eat some and spread the rest around so the seeds can sprout.

I would try feeding less at a time and possibly a few more times a day.
I feed mine twice a day - if they realize they aren't getting as much they tend to eat more and toss less.

Can my Staph infection be transmitted to my African Grey parrot?

there is no guarentee as with all diseases there is a chance that something has a weakness that will allow an infection to occur or one disease that was know only to one species will mutate and be found in a different species. wear gloves and if you have taken your meds right you may not have anything to worry about.

What happens to parrots when they outlive their owners?

The same thing as any other animal. They grieve. Some take things harder than others, and some have an easier time with it, it all depends on the bird. They're just like humans, and can become attached to their loved ones. The problems arise after their human companion passes away. So many people don't have plans for their birds after they pass, and it's very unfortunate, because there are already too many birds in the animal rescues around the world.
