Where Is The Best Place I Can Find Round Nosed Pliers

What are the best pliers to use when closing jump rings and attaching to an earring finding?

I always use pliers on jewelry making, Round Nose Pliers is used to bend sheet metal or metal wire into the roundness, side cutting pliers is used to get a flush cut on wire, Wire cutters pliers are you need to close jump rings and attach to an earring finding. and u can find all kinds of pliers on Beebeecraft.com.

What are bent nose pliers used for?

As far as I know, they don’t have a specific purpose that they need to be used for but they can be dang useful at times.Especially when working on engines and things of that nature with tubes that are seated up inside at weird angles. Sometimes it can be very hard to maneuver a pair of straight pliers around to the back of something without getting pinned up against something else. Bent nose pliers can help to alleviate the angle so you can get to that type of thing without needing to have straight access to it.

Needle nose pliers?

Needle nose pliers are just that, they end in a needle shape allowing you to grasp small things. Blunt nose pliers are the ones you use when you need to grab something that is bigger.

How do you make these necklaces?

The necklace pendant is just plastic beads ironed together to make that shape. They are not very hard to make. What you need is :

a peg borad

plastic beads

ironing paper or wax paper

an iron

jump rings

a chain

round - nose pliers

You can buy these things I just listed in basically any store where they sell beads and they are very inexpensive. You can also buy sets of these things.

instructions :

1.Place the pegboard on a flat surface. Use the beads to make any design you want on the pegboard. Be sure each bead has at least two other beads touching it. The more beads you have next to each other, the better they will stick together to make a sturdy piece of art. If you put two beads in a line, they may pull when the piece is cooled.

2.Once the design is complete, cover the bead design with the ironing paper. Use a household iron heated to medium, preferably non-steam, to iron the beads together. Circular motions work best to get an even heating.

3.Let the beads cool before handling the piece. Take the ironing paper off carefully because you are going to use the same piece of ironing paper for the next side. Remove the decoration from the board and turn it over.

4.Repeat the ironing on this side again using the ironing paper.

5. Once your bead craft decoration is again cooled, remove the ironing paper

6. When you are done making the pendant, open the jump ring with your round nose pliers and hook it through one of the beads outside of the design

7. hook the jump ring to the center of your chain and close the jumpring with your pliers.

Tada, you're done !

What are fencing pliers and how do you use them?

These are fencing pliers. The hammer head is used for knocking in staples to hold fencing wire to a post. D'you  see the slots on either side of the pivot? They're wire cutters for different gauges of wire, open the handles, put the wire to be cut in the slot and then squeeze. The spike can be driven under an old staple and then used to loosen it and then lever it out. At the top  of the head in the middle are pincers that can be used for the same thing by gripping the staple and then rocking the head over. That funny shaped slot above the pivot? It's for gripping different gauges of wire in order to tension them or to twist them to join wires. To tension a wire you part drive staples over the wire into the fencepost, grip the end of the wire near the post and then use the pliers against the post to lever and tension the wire. Once you have adequate tension then you use a second pair of pliers or a hammer to drive the staples home, holding the wire in tension. To join two wires you take the end of one wire, bend it into a tight U shape and insert both legs of the U into the gripping slots. by twisting the pliers round you can wrap one end of the wire around the other making a very strong loop. You then slip the end of the wire to be joined through the first loop and back around before you twist it closed. You should end up with something like this.    Finally there is a texturised gripping surface at the top of the handles below the pivot. This can be used to grip wire for tensioning, squeeze the ends of loops together or just hold something in. Fencing pliers have been around in one form or another for many many years and were probably one of the first multitools.

What is the difference between wrenches and pliers?

PliersPliers consist of a pair of pivoted jaws that are used for holding, bending, cutting, or turning objects. They also allow one to manipulate objects that are too small or too unwieldy to be manipulated with fingers.Although pliers can be used to tighten and loosen nuts, this is a task better suited to the wrench. Pliers tend to damage the surfaces of fasteners and are usually more difficult to use than a properly-sized wrench.WrenchesWrenches are used to turn objects, most commonly nuts and bolts. Unlike pliers, wrenches generally do not have pivoting jaws (an exception is the sink wrench). Wrenches are almost always a better tool than pliers for loosening and tightening nuts and bolts because they provide greater torque than pliers and are less likely to round or damage fasteners.See full details here: http://www.howstuffcompares.com/...Hand Tools You Can Always Rely onDo you remember the hand tools in your grandfather’s tool box? How much does it cost to make basic earrings and then how much could I sell them for?

It depends on what you use to make them.

You can keep your cost down by watching for sales on jewelry making supplies. You'll need ear wires, eye pins or head pins, beads of some sort, a cutting tool, and at least a pair of round-nose pliers. You can buy earring kits that have all the materials, but none of the tools. A kit would also contain instructions, which would probably be helpful since you're just starting to make earrings.

You'll want to consider the cost of the materials and how much time you put into the earrings when determining your sale price. If a pair of earrings only takes me a few minutes to make, I usually sell them for about 3 times the cost of the materials. If I've put an hour into making a pair of earrings, I usually sell them for about 10 times the cost of the materials. I usually try to keep my prices at $2 (very simple, very inexpensive components, easy to make), $5, $10, and $15 (multiple drops from a chandelier, semiprecious stones or expensive crystal, sterling silver ear wires and eye/head pins, time-consuming to make).

Think about what you can do to make your earrings distinctive. A lot of people make and try to sell jewelry these days. You'll need something to catch the attention of buyers.

Read beading magazines and books, but check the copyright statements in them before making earrings to sell. Most do not permit their designs to be sold, just made for your own personal use. Most do say you can use their design for inspiration. Do people sell jewelry (and other items) copied from someone else's designs? Yes. Do they get caught? Sometimes. I sell at a market where a vendor was recently arrested and charged with a federal felony for selling items that were in violation of copyright and trademark restrictions; it wasn't jewelry, but it was still items someone else owned the rights to. Please don't put yourself in that position.

How do you clasp a necklace/bracelet by yourself?

I like to make my own clasp to put on the necklaces I make. It give a nice rustic look, way nicer than the purchased ones. And even better, I made them with recycled copper.Step 1: MATERIALYou need:-18 gauge copper wire (I use old electrical wire, and skin it out of the plastic);-2 long nose pliers;-round nose plier;-file;-hammer;-wire cutter;-anvil or other hard metal surface (I use a bigger hammer).Step 2: CUTCut a piece of copper wire long about 5 cm.Step 3: FILEFile one of the edge of the wire.Step 4: SHAPING THE HOOKBend the edge with the long nose pliers, of about 2 mm, on a 30° angle.Step 5: SHAPINGWith the round nose pliers, make a almost full circle with the wire, forming a small hook. With the flat pliers make a 90° bent on the bottom of the circle.Form a loop with the round nose pliers.Round the left wire around the bottom of the hook.Step 7: FINISHING THE HOOKCut away the excessive wire.File the edge. With the flat pliers squeeze down the edge of the wire.Step 8: HAMMERThis is how the hook should look when you are done.Give a little hammer on the edge of the hook, and on both opposite side of the round part of the hook. This will give a nice look, and will make the hook really sturdy.Step 9: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CLASPCut another section of wire of about 5 mm.Bent it at 90° with the flat pliers.Step 10: THE FIRST HOOPMake an hoop with the round pliers.Wrap around the left over wire with the flat pliers.Step 11: THE SECOND HOOPBent at 90° the other side of the wire.Make another loop with the round nose pliers.Wrap around the left over wire.Step 12: FINISHINGCut away the left over wire.File the edge down.Squeeze the edge down.Step 13: HAMMERHammer a little the edges of the two loops.Step 14: DONEYou are done! You can use it directly on a chain, or insert in between two jump rings.
