Hudson Gardens would be good. http://www.hudsongardens.org/ Note the photography policy here though: http://www.hudsongardens.org/content/pho... . If you have a paid photographer, you need a photography permit. If it's family pictures, you do not. In the city, the Botanical Garden or Washington Park would be good.

As for restaurants, someplace like Rioja, Vesta Dipping Grill or Panzano could be good depending on your tastes and budget.

How long does it take to get prom pictures from Lifetouch?

Let's see, a few years ago when I was in high school, Lifetouch did our photos too. It usually took two weeks to get them back. A couple times they were pushed back to 3 or 4 weeks though. Usually it was two though. Hope they turn out great!

I need some prom picture taking places?

Asking where to take photos in YOUR locality seems a little odd to me.
It might take days until someone who knows your town comes along to read your question, or maybe it won't happen at all.

Since you live there, surely you are perfectly capable of figuring out which places you'd like see in your photos?

If you need inspiration, look at some of your friends' photos, or ask people you know for ideas.
Open up Google maps, zoom in pretty close and look around - I bet that will trigger your memory about a number of places where you'll think: "OH yes, of course - that place would be great!".

If you still have no clue, think parks, rivers, beaches, harbour/port, old houses, the museum, a statue, town hall, the city centre, art gallery, the zoo, a nice big playground, forest, green fields with wild flowers…….. etc etc etc.

Having said all that, keep in mind that the best portraits have a shallow DOF ( i.e. a blurred background), so quite often it isn't even all that important where you are - taking a GOOD photo comes first.

Did that help you any?

Where is a great place to take prom pictures?

I don't know what your theme is but some places that I talked to my friends about taking prom pictures are these.
1) top of a high place like a hill or rooftop of a high building, where you can see your whole city.
(its at night and the lights are really pretty)

2) at a bonfire like an afterparty feel.

3) at a local carnival or fair or carnival if there is one. that way you can have pictures of you guys not only going to a prom party, but to something almost everyone has done you know? like remembering when you were kids and comparing to how you're all grown now.

4) at a local park, it looks great for a preparty thing

5) (this is probably my favorite, i know its kinda cliche but...) at a beach, its fun, its secluded, and you don't even need the decorations. (you could put a bonfire here too).

But I suggest going to all of the places you were thinking of and testing how the pictures look first, just so you know.

hope this helped. =)
