Where To Buy Food Strainer

What is the best tea strainer?

I sell a variety of strainers; however I do not useA tea strainer. I went to a store and purchasedA two cup coffee maker which you put small paper strainers in for less than $15.00. Instead of using it for coffee, I use it strictly for tea.  For loose tea I use a paper strainer inserted. For tea tea bags, just place the bag where you would put the paper strainer and it makes two cups of tea perfectly. I have been using this method for yearsAnd still wonder why people buy strainers from me.I also give a free strainer as a gift to those who purchase two or more Discovery Packets of loose tea on Anazon.

Are plastic strainers/colanders safe?

I saw a cheap orange one at Walmart yesterday and almost bought it, but my friend said that pouring hot boiling water through it would release the chemicals into the food. I don't know anything about BPAs and cooking/eating/drinking with plastic.

What can I use in replace of a cheese cloth strainer or nut milk bag?

Don't know where to buy these... Is there any way of making a home made cheese cloth strainer or using some household object instead? I want to make almond milk, thanks!

How to steam this food without a steamer pot.?

Uhh, sorry to burst a top contributor's bubble, but plastics do indeed leach dangerous chemicals into foods if the plastic has been heated past the point of what's recommended and/or if the plastic container has been used and it's bubbled and/or cracked on the inside.

The best way to steam w/o a steamer is to put the items in a glass bowl with a little water and then cover with a paper towel and cook in the microwave. Or, you could just go to the store and buy a pot and lid that is designed for steaming. They're really not that expensive and easy to use.

Using a paint strainer bag and a blender to juice?

It depends on what it is made of. If it is made of a natural fibre (like cotton or something), and obviously if it hasn't been used, it should be okay. I would avoid it if it is made of something synthetic, but that is just me personally. I would think it should be safe. You can also get a cheesecloth really cheap at like any grocery store, and that works great. As long as you have a good enough blender.

Can an Elephant soup strainer be used for deep frying?

What is a good way to cook with raspberries?

What's the Italian word for Colander or Pasta Strainer, I pronounce it Scolobast.?

Hi, I'm Italian!

That word means "scolapasta". I've looked for its pronounciation on Forvo.com, but unluckily it doesn't exist. Anyway, the accent is on the second A, so, "scòla-pàsta".
