Where To Find And Replace The Rubber Piece That Fits Around Trim On Lincoln Town Car 2000

How long can I drive my car with loose engine mounts?

For days, weeks, probably months. Most engine mounts have captive metal parts so the engine can’t drop out onto the road. It will just go clunk when you shift into drive or reverse. So it’s not a safety issue very much.

The 'check air suspension' light just came on last night. How expensive is this? [Lincoln Town Car]?

So far, it is not sitting low when parked. I do not hear the motor for the system to level the car when started/driving though. I need to have it checked out. This is a new development. The year of the Lincoln is 1996. Did any of you have this happen? Or are you a mechanic? I would like to know if there is a way for me to 'reset' the computer by turning the key back and forth or tapping the gas pedal [or whatever] before I bring it in.

My 2000 volkswagen beetle has standing water in passenger side floor boards when it rains. CAN ANYBODY HELP?

I had this problem several years ago. It was solved easily. So if you have a sunroof here is the answer.
It could be your drain tube. Depending on your model, it is located either on the drivers side or passenger side door jamb.
To find it open the doors and look where the hinges are. You will notice a half-inch black rubber hose coming from the windshield pillar. That is the drain hose for the sunroof.
Check the outlet for dirt, leaves, etc. Squeeze it several times to dislodge debris. Or take a small rigid wire and move it around in the hose; but be careful not to puncture the hose.

How much does it cost to fix a scratched bumper?

It really depends on the level of damage that has been done to the Base Coat (color layer) of the paint. It’s a Plastic Bumper… I’d clean it first, with soap & water, then probably use a polishing compound to remove any surface-scuff that has embedded into the clear-coat. Lightly sanding with some Scotch-Brite Pad to cut-down the clear-coat you’d be able to see if the Base Coat has been affected. Glazing Putty to fill any imperfections; prep sanding once dry, a few lite coats of matching color paint (masking-off, to prevent over-spray), more polishing, then clear-coat over the repaired area & blending with old paint surface.I would say 4 Hours of Labor/Waiting Time, $70 in Materials & an attention to detail is all it takes.Unfortunately, the vehicle owner will contact their insurance carrier & your Insurance Carrier will be made to pay whatever it is the Vehicle Owner Wants, regarding Repair, as it falls under Collision & You left an admission of guilt. Otherwise it would have fallen under Comprehensive Coverage & wouldn’t affect your Insurance Rates. When going through an Insurance Estimator, it could cost you anywhere from $500–$1200, instead of the Repair Cost I quoted above.
