Which Ap Should I Take Computer Science A Or Environmental Science

Should I take AP Environmental Science or AP Computer Science?

Why do people ask questions like this of a computer science professor? OF COURSE take AP CS A. For me to state otherwise would be weird, no?Seriously, if you are interested in mathematics or computer science, take AP Computer Science A. However, if you are interested in biology, chemistry, or environmental science, take AP Computer Science A.Right now, you might think I made a typo. Nope. Take CS. Before thinking, “he’s biased” (not wrong), think about why I’m a computer scientist. I wanted an academic career, but I could have studied something else. I love CS, but I love other things, too, like history. However, I wanted an academic career, and most people who get PhDs in history do not get to have academic careers. Computing skills are in demand in a way that almost no other skills are. I wouldn’t have studied computing if I didn’t love it, but I will freely admit that the employment scenario pushed the needle from the middle toward computing.AP CS A is largely an introduction to programming. While it’s true that all computer science students program, by far the majority of programmers do not have degrees in computer science, just as the majority of professional writers do not have degrees in writing or English. Lots of fields use programming, including all sciences. You’ve taken science courses before. This would just be another one, and you can take it in college. However, I doubt you’ve ever taken a CS course before. You’ve probably never programmed before. Can you take this course in college? Sure, but given our recent surge, you’ll be in a class with 499 of your best friends. The labs will be much smaller; just you and 79 of your best buds. That’s not workable for many students, but it’s our reality right now at the college/university level. Sure, a small school will have fewer students in a class, but you won’t get the time and support you’ll get from a (hopefully) devoted high school teacher. If you look at new jobs being created, as the income level for that job goes up, so does the likelihood it will involve programming. In the top income quintile, half of new jobs require programming. We may be moving toward universal programming literacy, but regardless, if you can succeed, this is a skill that is insanely in demand.

Should i take AP environmental science?

I'm a sophomore and we're deciding our classes for next year.
I can't decide whether to take AP enviro or AP bio. Science isn't really my thing, but i got a 93 in honors Bio and I currently have a 93 in Honors Chem. I have alot of AP classes so i don't want to add alot of extra workload to my schedule, cause I do varsity football and track.
I'd like to major in something of Business management or IT.

Some people said AP enviro is easy so it doesnt look good on a transcript

My schedule for my junior year would look like this

AP US history
AP English Comp
AP Psychology
Analysis( Pre Calculus)
AP Bio or Ap Enviromental
Team Sports ( an easy blowoff class)
Spanish IV

Should I take AP bio or AP environmental science?

AP biology for sure! It's one of my favorite classes and really influenced my career goals. It is definitely more challenging and fast paced than environmental science, but that's what makes it more fun and rewarding. You will learn a wide variety of topics, from genetics to cellular biology to ecology. (And read the textbook a lot too.)But environmental science is a great class as well! It's really based on biology though.Good luck with whatever you choose!

Can I take both AP Physics 1 and AP Environmental Science in my junior year?

AP Environmental Science is fairly easy-it’s a lot of calculations, short essays, and a lot of multiple choice during the exam. I know a lot of students in my school didn’t take the course, but self-studied for the exam and did okay.AP Physics, from what I’ve heard, is vigorous. If you want to see what the exams will be like, I’d suggest going onto the University & College Search Tool (College Board) website and looking at exams from previous years up to see if it’s something you’re interested in.If you can handle these two classes, along with extracurricular activities and other AP/honors courses you may be taking, go for it. Like many of the other answers stated, you know yourself best: do you think you can handle these two courses, along with other social activities you may have outside of school, work (if you’re working), AP/honors courses, and college applications (if you’re a high school senior)? If you can balance all of it, and can do well in those courses, then go for it.

Physiology or AP Environmental Science?

It would depend on which subject(s) you're considering as major subjects in college.

Physiology may be more strategically placed because it would be a component of more biological science majors and pre-med than Environmental Science, which would only really be specific for Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering.

(since some people take AP classes without intending to go to college:)

If you're going to go directly into jobs, Environmental Science might be good because it's more related to things like real estate development, public policy, facilities planning, agriculture, environmental impact statements, agriculture, landscaping etc. It also may involve systems thinking on a larger, more social scale than physiology would. Also a lot of businesses and corporations are trying to be "Greener" and they may want that outlook.

Physiology would be better if you were looking for jobs in health care.

Should I take AP Computer Science A?

I'll be a senior this year and I'm debating if I should sign up for AP Computer Science A on FLVS. I would start working on it during the summer and finish the class before the AP exam in May 2014. I want to take this class because I want to major in computer science.
I would go ahead and sign up for it but the problem is that I already signed up to take 6 other AP classes at my school, which are:

AP English Lit.
AP Calc AB
AP Chemistry (or AP Biology)
AP U.S. Gov't (1st semester) / AP Macroeconomics (2nd Semester)
AP Art History

Would it be stressing myself out and overworking myself if I added AP Computer Science A to my classes?

Should I do AP environmental science first or AP biology?

I am under the assumption that sooner or later you will be taking both AP courses.Environmental science is definitely the easier AP course, and AP Biology requires a bigger time commitment and learning curve to succeed. AP Biology is more useful in other AP courses. While both do relate to biology, environmental science is more ecological while biology is more molecular.I recommend taking AP environmental science first. At the end of the day, it is your decision to make.

Should I take Physics, Anatomy, or AP Environmental Science?

Sorry this is so long.

Alright, so I have to decide my course schedule for next year. I'm going to be a junior. I love studying the human body, so I thought that I would take Anatomy next year. Well, I'm not going into the medical field (most likely) and then I heard this slacker in my class say he would take Anatomy. There is just regular Anatomy at my school, no AP or honors or I would apply for those. However, I heard a senior say that AP Enviromental Science is extremely easy. I currently have the same teacher for my Chemistry class, and he's VERY easygoing. I need to boost my GPA, but I'm not sure if I would really enjoy AP E.S. Then there's physics. Physics is something I always have wanted to take, ever since I was a little kid. I'm not that good at math, though. But I work hard, so I'm hoping that that will pay off.

So basically, there is Anatomy, which I think I would enjoy but colleges and people don't think too highly of; AP E.S. which could potentially be an easy class, and boost my GPA (which I need), and impress colleges, but not really enjoy; or I can take Physics, which I might not be that good at, but is more impressive, and I have always wanted to take.

Whew. Sorry for dumping out my soul on all you guys.

Should I take AP Bio or AP environmental science (I will be a senior and I will be taking AP cal and AP physics 2)?

Bio 1 is required at more colleges than environmental science classes. You can check what the colleges you’re interested in require and gove as credit for AP tests, but if you don’t have a school in mind do bio. Also you can easily get a 5 in environmental science without taking the class if you study.

Ap comparative government or environmental science?

I am taking 5 ap exams this year. 4 are self study. I have apush as a class this year, and my 4 other ap tests I think I'm taking are ap computer science, psychology, us government, and comparative government. Computer science and psychology are a must. I've already taken high school us government during summer school, so I'm thinking ap us government is going to be easier to study for.
So, should I take ap comparative government or environmental science? Which is easier? Should I have enough experience from regular us government to make comparative government easier? Or is environmental science just easier? btw, I'm taking ap bio the class next year, so would it be advisable to take study and take the environmental science ap test since it should help me with ap bio class? Or does it really make a difference? What are your suggestions?
