Which Ear Piercing Should I Get

Where in my ear should I get a piercing?

I have seen ear piercings everywhere, literally every spot in the ear. Of course, the expert that’ll do it, will avoid a nerve, but you can get any type of ear piercings. Here's a picture of the names of each piercing spot. However, I have heard that tragus is easily infected.

What ear piercing should i get?

Any cartilage piercing is going to basically take the same amount of time to heal (6-9 months, AT LEAST). If you want an industrial project done, go for it. Keep in mind, your body IS still growing and changing, so the alignment of the two piercings may change, but it's very possible to just wear rings in your old industrial piercings, and then get another piercing to recreate your old project.

Alternatively, if you want suggestions for piercings that are a little out of the mainstream (not so much anymore, but they're still less common than a forward helix or anti-helix cartilage piercing), maybe look into a conch or daith piercing. Both are incredibly old, traditional piercings, and the variety of available jewelry is astounding. I myself wear captive bead rings without the bead in my conch, so the ring fits snuggly down on my lobe.

Whatever you decide, make sure you go to a safe, reputable, professional piercer for any procedure you do. Good luck!

What ear piercing should I get next?

So, I'm 14 and I have my ear lobes double pierced, and, I was just wondering what piercing that I should get next. i'm not the girl that's going to go overboard with crazy facial piercings or whatever, I mean strictly ear piercings. What I'm thinking is a third set, right cartilage, or tragus. I'm just a little hesitant because I plan on working in business after college and I'm not sure that I'd be able to keep the cartilage or tragus. So that's why I don't know if I should get any other ones besides the third lobe set. What's your opinion on this?

Should I get an upper ear piercing?

Your piercings should be for yourself - if you feel like it will make you happy and you’re able to take care of it properly then go ahead! It doesn’t matter what we think, honestly.

What type of ear piercing should I get?

This is tough to answer for another person. If you're thinking of earrings, I'd get two. Not only are two earrings in style, but you get a discount on two, and if you change your mind, you can easily take one out. This is just my opinion, but I like both ears pierced on men.As for the earrings, you'll first have to wear starter earrings for six weeks. If you have a choice, both black or silver are great and go with everything. Either would look good. It you're totally stumped, flip a coin. I'm fair and Scottish; for me, I'd go for black.Whatever you do, get pierced by a licensed piercer at a tattoo parlour, not by a mall piercer with a gun (they're all at the mall in the US). Mall piercers have almost no training, whereas a real piercer was in an apprenticeship, studied bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases. Mall piercers’ equipment can not be sterilised, only wiped down with alcohol wipes; a real piercer uses sterilised equipment and creates a sterile field. The gun rips your flesh, whereas the needle slices a clean hole. Tears from the gun heal slower and are more prone to infection - and the gun can have bacteria on it. With the needle and a licensed piercer, there's less pain, and far less risk of infection. You don't want to end up in hospital over a little hole!Good luck, and enjoy!

Which ear do I get a daith piercing on?

If this is in regards to how the daith piercing can relieve migraines simply pierce on the same side of your head that you feel pain. Some people think because the halves of the brain control the opposite side the piercing should switch too but its just isn't that way. I used to be a piercer and we had one customer that got a daith piercing on the side she got migraine on, they went away and the migraine pain moved to the other side of her head so she got that ear done too! Since then she only has light headaches so it worked for her.I would say though it isn't a guarantee to help with migraines, the daith piercing apparently works as it alleviates pressure in an acupuncture point in the ear which helps relieve the symptoms. 1: a cure for one person is not a cure for everyone and 2. your piercer is not a medical professional in this experimental pressure point specialty, they’ll pierce where on the daith is safest. As for how it looks, the daith and daith jewellery are tiny and quite close to the inside of your ear, chances are you won’t even be able to see it without actively trying and it doesn't get in the way as much as other piercings might.

In which ear should guys get a piercing done?

Back in the day it was the left ear but in this day and age you can do both, actually I'd recommend it, single left ear only just doesn't look right now. The “stigma” used to be, and don't anyone take offense to this please, that any guy with a ear piercing other than the left only was “gay.” I personally had my left done over 20 years ago but no longer wear lobe piercings. I do have a 12 guage cartilage piercing on the left and industrial on the right. If it were to do my lobes again, it be both, with ear plugs between a 2 to 00 guage, any bigger requires them to be sewn back together. But to each his own.

Should I get my ears pierced?

Any piercing you get is going to hurt no matter where you get pierced! The pain level is different from person to person so I can't tell you the exact pain. Make sure you go to a professional to get any piercing including your ears! They use piercing needles which hurt more and are a bit more expensive, but it's well worth it. The needles are very sanitary and the jewelry used is very high quality grade.

People will tell you that its ok to get piercings at Claire's, Icing, Piercing Pagoda. But DO NOT go to ANY of these places because they use piercing gun which is very unsanitary. Claire's and Piercing Pagoda have very poorly trained employees. The only training that they get prior to piercing people's ears is piercing a stuffed bear's ears. Yes, you read that correctly. The problem with the gun is that it forces a blunt object through the ear. With a needle, it easily passes through, allowing for a lower pain level, quicker and cleaner healing, and very much reduced rick of cartilage shattering.

Piercing guns CAN NOT be sterilized (alcohol swabs can't clean 100%) properly and harbors blood born pathogens, leftover tissue and transmitted diseases (like aids or hiv). This is even worse if you get your cartilage pierced with a gun because it can shatter the cartilage and severely damage it. Piercing guns don't give a clean piercing and infection is higher and it NEVER heals properly!

Which ear should i get a piercing in my cartiliege??

Get the side pierced that you don't use as much. It will hurt... So which side do you usually talk on the phone with? I would do the opposite side of that. Which side do you sleep on etc... I would consider all of that first :)
