Which Is Safe In Use Product

Is it safe to use an expired Lush product?

Overall, it really depends on the product in question. I'd say it's never really UNSAFE to use any expired products, but some contain ingredients like eggs and milk which could potentially be pretty unpleasant to use if it's long after the expiry date. For others that don't contain these ingredients, I don't see the problem with using them at all - they'll do no harm at all, but other qualities such as colour, texture, smell, or effectiveness may be compromised slightly (e.g. old bath bombs don't fizz as much and won't look as pretty in water as fresh ones). For the products you've mentioned, they should be absolutely fine, especially if you've kept them refrigerated. Maybe add some water if they're a bit clumpy, and you'll be good to go.

Is it safe to use oil stop leak products to stop the leak of the rear main seal?

Do you have high mileage on your engine?

The rear main seal can and does wear with use.

Often, if there is pressure in the crankcase, it forces a leak at the crankshaft seals (rear main or harmonic balancer). Check that your PCV valve isn't stuck/plugged. If you have well worn piston rings, blow-by will pressurize the crankcase.

-Engine overhaul mechanic and general automotive mechanic since 1972

p.s. You have stated that: "The mechanic has already replaced some seals for my car such as ... crankshaft, etc." The "rear main seal" IS the only official "crankshaft seal". And a made up number of "drops per day" is rubbish. There should be NO leakage.

If it's leaking, there is something wrong. First verify whether there is pressure OR vacuum in your crankcase. If there is PRESSURE, then find out WHY. If there is pressure in the crankcase, a NEW rear main seal will also leak!

If a product has been tested on animals, is it safe to use on an animal?

Animal testing is done *before* the end product has been approved. It is a very cruel practice. Whether or not sthg has been tested on animals bears no correlation whatsoever as to whether it is safe to use on animals.

Never ever give your dog any human medications without first consulting your vet. They have a different anatomy to humans and what is fine for us isn't always fine for them - point in fact: chocolate! Yummy to us, fatal for your dog. Also, a human dosage might be too much for a dog. Call your vet. it won't cost you much.

Would it be safe to use products that are for "chemically treated or damaged hair" if my hair is natural?

Yes, it should be safe. Most products for chemically treated and damaged hair claim their formulations are more gentle and boast super conditioning ingredients to nourish and repair damage.

Is Shiseido's White Lucent product safe to use? What about over a long-period of time?

I'm assuming you're worried about the product possibly containing lead. You should go on the internet to look up the ingredients; if they're not on the box.
