Is a Jansport Big Student Backpack too big for the freshman year of high school?
If anything, it’s ideal for a high school freshman.I don’t know about other people, but during my high school years, the most books I’ve ever carried was when I was a freshman.Different high schools may work differently, but the teachers in my high school become less strict as your high school years get shorter because the students are expected to gradually grow into young adults by the end of it all.It’s a pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Is a jansport backpack to small for high school?
No, I've used jansport backpacks since Freshman year and it was very comfortable and fresh. That size of a backpack is what you want to stick with because big backpacks will not look good. 2" Binders and lots of papers can fit in there. Even workbooks. You will have to carry your textbooks but trust me its better than looking like a geeky kid with a huge bag. You can even switch things around and put a textbook in your bad and hold your binder and you'll be fine. I'm doing very well without a locker. I don't even need one. (My school took them out because of drug problems in the 80's lol.)
Backpack? For Freshman High School?
Well I start school next week(july 26) and I'm going to be a freshman too! So yeah, i wouldn't know how much stuff you need to carry, but i think you should get a jansport backpack(they're 5 dollars off at Tilly's right now), not the big kind, but the one with only one main pocket. Get a color like black or grey so that it won't get dirty. I think its boring when its plain so i always put some kind of colored ribbon on the thingy on the top. I you have a locker, it'll lessen the load. And its not like you have to carry five textbooks all the time. Also, only get one inch binders for each class, if you get the ones with a floppy cover, you'll have a lot more room. Jansport backpacks arent that big, so if you need to, bring a drawstring bag to carry things like PE clothes(if you have any) and other stuff like that. I always bring a bunch of stuff to school, but i HATE big backpacks. They're in the way, people trip, they get hit with it, and its harder to carry. DO NOT get a tote bag! I had one fot the first three days of seventh gade then switched. It really kills your shoulder! Yeah, totes are cuter, but a lot of people use backpacks too(at least where i live). And you don't want the strap to come off as your walking around during the school day. Also, if its opened, people can see in it, someone can easily steal your things, and your stuff will fall out a lot easier. So just get a one colored jansport backpack(i like the gray one since it wont get dirty, but you can still write on it with black sharpie... Well, you could use silver on the back of it, but its just a lot happier than black.) and it goes with everything you wear. For freshman year, i got a grey jansport backpack and i'm really happy about it! Hope this helped!
What TYPE of JanSport backpack should I get for high school?

I am going to be a sophomore this year and I want to buy a JanSport backpack, I went on their website and they have tons of backpacks I have no idea which ones to choose I am pretty tall like 5'8 or 5'9 (Female) and I don't want to be carrying around a tiny backpack. But I also don't want a HUGE looking backpack either. I want one that is a good size and can fit a good amount of stuff inside... What type of JanSport backpack works well for freshman year of high school?
JanSport Big Student, or the similar one at Target (JanSport brand, same quality, almost exactly the same style, different name). Even if it's not full, it doesn't look bad, but chances are you will fill it up. You can put the books for your next classes into the large main backpack pocket, your supplies and folders into the zipper pocket in front of it, and your make up in the small pocket right in front of the backpack? Because my son can't get to his locker between classes in the time he has between bells, he goes to his locker before school, puts the books in it he needs until recess, then at recess changes out to the books he needs until lunch, and then after school he puts in the books he needs at home (that he doesn't have a second copy of at home already). We have a bunch of different JanSports, and they're really good quality. Good luck!
