Which Lens I Should Buy

Which lens should i buy for my Nikon D5300 ?

I'm not a fan of the super zooms due to their optical inferiority to shorter zooms and especially to prime lenses. They're designed for those who want a one-lens kit because they don't want to carry extra lenses (travelers or the casual shooter). Those who are concerned about sharpness, distortion, bokeh will not purchase an all-in-one zoom.

For general photography, a 24-105 (35mm equiv) is wide enough for most of your landscapes and interior shots, while the lens is strong enough to get portraits and candids.

Nikon's 16-85 is a pretty good lens - http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-ap...

Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4 - A lens that has a larger aperture than the Nikon 16-85 to blur out backgrounds better at the wide angle range. The MTF charts show that it's about equal to the Nikon 16-85. http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-ap...

The Sigma Sigma AF 17-50mm f/2.8 is sharper than the Nikon or the other Sigma, plus it has a constant f/2.8 aperture to blur out backgrounds and for low-light shots at all focal lengths. http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-ap...

Tamron's 17-50mm f/2.8 - A better (sharper) lens than the Sigmas. http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-c-lens-tests/637-tamron175028d7000?start=1

Which prime lens I should buy 35mm or 50mm?

Depends on your primary useI would prefer a 50mm over 35mm because the 50mm can produce far greater bokeh and is a perfect overall lens with sharp focus and practical usesSo i suggest you go with 50mm lensYou wont regret your decisionThese videos might help you decide the one you need:(Video source: Youtube DRTV)With regards,Pruthvin BathamHappy Clicking!!

What should I buy: a 50mm prime lens or a 50-200mm lens?

If you have to ask this question, then trust me, you do not have to buy any of these lenses. Just use whatever lens you have now.Once you have really used your lens, you will start understanding its shortcomings and realize what you require more. It can be longer focal length, wider aperture, closer focusing or anything else. Buy a lens then based on your own requirements.Do read this - Next lens to buy?

Which lens should I buy for my Nikon D3300?

I have D3300 and I own below lenses :18–55 KIT lens — > This one comes with package here in India, Its a good all round lens and to start your DSLR journey. I learned lot using this lens only. Its versatile, sharp enough and prtable too. I even used this lens with reverse ring to get macro shot. Wuite happy with this one :)35. 1.8g PRIME —->This prime lens I bought almost after 7–8 months for street and portraits photography. I love this lens coz of its sharp result and great bokeh. when Kit lens fails like in low light situation, this is your must have friend :) .. I shot lot of pictures in Diwali using this. And the last one, I just bought Tamron SP AF 70-300 mm F/4 - 5.6 Di VC USD for birding which is excellent when you compare it to Nikkor lenses and much more cheaper too almost 10k. and Believe me its VC works like magic, better the Nikkon VR and you can feel the grip of picture while seeing through live-view.You can check my Insta and FB profile for pictures taken from all 3 lenses i have.HAPPY CLICKING :)

Which lens I should buy after 18-55MM for my Canon EOS 1300D?

It depends on what your interest or what you would like to shoot mainly.I will mention some of the lenses I have used for various situations. If you are into wildlife or he categories which requires a zoomed vision then go forCanon EF-S 55–250.Pros:Cheapest zoom lens from CanonCan click decent zoomed pics with a tripod (not always necessary to have a tripod.)Also good for portraits and candids at good daylight. If you are into portraits, candids or event photography (basically concerts and stage shows).Canon 50mm f1.8 STMPros:Can click at very low lighting situations.Gives the best BOKEH among all other lenses mentioned here.Give a nice DOF (Depth of Field- basifally bacground blur in layman terms)Faster focussing compared to the other lensesWorth 8k and possibly the cheapest canon lens.Must have lens for all photographers. If you are into architecture or lanscape photpgrapht, then go for a wide angle lens.Canon 10–18mm f3.5Pros:The only wide angle for the cropped sensor cameras from canon. You will love the distortions this lens gives at the lowest zoomLightweight and fast focussing. All the lens metioned above have some cons as all are the basic entry level lens for the cropped sensor cameras (EF-S Mount) . I have only mentioned about the lenses from canon as I have used only these. You have many other options like Sigma or Tamron. Thanks!

Which prime lens should I buy for a Nikon D5300?

I would suggest you to buy a 35mm f1.8 for starters as it is quite cheap for the quality it offers. It is equivalent to 52mm on a crop sensor such as yours and is ideal for street photography, which I use it for on my D5200.It can also be for casual landscape photography too. Also if you want to capture portraits, you can go for a 50mm f1.8.It is equivalent to a 75mm one,but I feel it is an awkward focal length as ideally 85mm is the best suited focal length for portrait. But hey, who cares for the rules anyway ;-)

Should I buy a lens hood for the Canon EF-S 10-18mm lens?

I don't know much about lenses or anything, but I heard that this lens can cause flares, and that a lens hood can prevent that from happening. Is this true, and should i buy the lens hood?

Nikon D5600: Should I pay for the VR kit lens? Or should I buy some other lens?

It depends what your photography goals are. The kit lens is quite decent, but it’s obviously limited in focal length and in aperture. Do you want to do more low-light shooting? You need a faster lens. Want to go wider? Need a different lens. If you are asking is there a better alternative to the VR kit lens, then yes: the older 16–85mm or its 16–80mm replacement, the 18–140mm, the Sigma 17–50 or 18–35mm are all good replacements. When I was using a D7000, my kit was a Tokina 11–16mm, a Sigma 17–50, and a Tamron 70–300, with the 35mm and an old 55mm macro lens thrown in.
