Why does my makeup look better after a nap or after school?

In the morning my makeup almost looks cakey or not as well as it does after school. Or if I take a nap, I wake up and my foundation looks really good. Why is this? And how can I make it so my foundation looks like that even in the morning?

What does it mean when a guy says you look better without makeup?

That's a compliment! He's sayimg that you are so beautiful, you don't need makeup!

People say I look better without make-up, what does this mean?

Are people saying this b/c it's just polite and a nice compliment or are they being honest? and if not, does this mean I don't know how to wear make up properly? I've always gotten compliments about my skin, and how clear it is, so I rarely wear foundation or anything for the complexion, but I do focus on eye make up b/c my eyes are kind of blan without anything, I myself actually think I look better with make up. I know it's hard to tell w/out seeing my face, but all I wear is the basic eye stuff, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and a tad bit of blush and rarely any lipgloss.

Why does my skin look better after I sleep with makeup on?

I doubt your skin would clear so quickly, especially with makeup on. The only things I can suggest are 1) You are disillusioned by the fact that you still have makeup on. 2) Your makeup has beneficial minerals in it that can help lessen the swollen pores. 3) You're sleeping, thus not messing with your face, which brings down oil production and swelling in blemishes.

I'm going to say it's both 1 and 3, because the likelihood that your makeup HELPS your acne is slim to none.

Why does makeup look better after a little while (maybe an hour)?

More often than not, when you first apply makeup, you are applying to a mostly oil free and clean face. After about an hour or so, your face has begun to produce more oils. These natural oils on your face kind of "blend" with your makeup and create a more natural looking effect. Makeup can't really "sink in" to your face, the oils just create a more even look.

Makeup doesn't look good on me anymore?!!?

Following the routine below should solve your problem, and may help with the "odd marks" you mentioned.

Take care of your skin and exfoliate it more.
At night after you have washed your face, Use sugar (1 tbs) and a little lemon juice and rub it into your skin till the sugar is almost completely dissolved, then rinse off, Moisturize (with a moisturizer meant for night since them are usually thicker and put more moisturizer into your skin) and any other face product you use (face creams for acne/blemishes, redness, ECT.)

In the morning, wash your face, moisturize (with a daytime moisturizer), let this sink into your skin for 5-10 minutes.

Makeup
Apply concealer to places that you feel aren't being covered up as well as they used to, use a minimal amount and be sure to blend it well.
Apply your tinted Moisturizer (If you have had yours for more then 6 months, i suggest buying a new one, because the problem may be that it is old)
Take a pressed powder and sweep it over your face (to help absorb makeup melting oils), applying more to places that need the extra coverage.

Hope this helps!!
