Would you buy an 8K TV?

Sure I would. I can always use higher resolution screenshots, and 8k would, I think, make a perfect monitor at around 40 inch screen size. Also, despite what some may think, 8k only provides four times the current standard detail for HD television.I would be more likely to want an 8k LED projector, though. At 90 inches, my current projector looks pretty good most times. I do find myself wishing for more resolution sometimes, though. A fourfold increase of detail would just about seem real, if it weren’t for the fact that Hollywood has gotten so used to using and taking advantage of blurring effects. High definition needs to find a way past that, as does 3d HD.In computer simulation, they call it Field of Effect. The deliberate blurring of the background/foreground for added realism. But the human eye doesn’t really blur the background, or really anything else it chooses to look at. Blurring is something you’re not supposed to notice in real life, so how can blurring add realism? It’s just a consequence of lens photography. Which we’ve had since the 19th century. It’s time to solve this limitation.

Would you buy a tcl or Vizio tv ?

I have bought several Vizio TVs and have been very satisfied with them

If you had a budget of $1200 what TV would you buy and why?

I bought a 27" LCD TV-Monitor for about $800 from Fry's (discount chain in California). HD ready, so all that will be needed to watch HD TV when it gets here is the extra box. (You can watch regular or cable TV without the box, and you can hook up your computer and have really big screen!)

I use it to watch TV, and as my computer monitor.

When you buy one, make sure both resolution numbers exceed 1,000 -- e.g., 1290x1090, or some such. If one of the numbers is less than 1,000, it probably won't work as well as need be for a computer monitor, but will probably be okay for TV.

Prices are starting to come down, so you might want to wait a month or two if you can.

Which TV are you planning to buy next?

A LG OLED TV.

Panasonic

Samsung
