Best Hip Hop Punchlines?

Just one example:

"Yo, yo I was speakin, to my guy 'Riq and
How she was desperately seekin to Organize in a Konfusion
Using no protection, told H.E.R. on Resurrection
Caught in the Hype Williams, and lost H.E.R. direction
Getting eight in sections where I wouldn't eat H.E.R.
An under the counter love, so Silently I Treat H.E.R.
Her Daddy'll beat H.E.R., eyes all Puff-ed
In the mix on tape, n-ggas had her in the buff
When we touch, it was more than just a F-ck
The Police, in her I found peace (like who?)
Like Malcolm in the East"

-Common, from Act Too (Love of My Life)

Why is Lil' Wayne so overrated?

He's better than the average Southern rapper, that's for sure. But he's not THAT nice. People be ridin' him mad hard like he's rap's savior. The so called "Best Rapper Alive" is forgetting about people like Jay-Z, Nas, and Fabolous. All these dudes, including Papoose, Jadakiss, Lloyd Banks, and Cassidy would all rip Lil' Wayne in a battle, and they're all better than him lyrically and flow wise. He might sell more records than Papoose, Cassidy, Banks and Jadakiss, but that doesn't make him better. It just means he's more commercial. How do record sales measure a rapper's lyrical ability? He's not the first rapper who doesn't write his rhymes. He took it from Jay-Z, who took it from Big. Ok, he makes a lot of mixtapes and rhymes over a lot of beats. That's been done before, by many people. The Game and Fabolous do it all the time and they have many mixtapes. Banks was rhyming over other peoples beats on mixtapes since 2001, all of them having better verses than anything Weezy ever spit.

Eminem vs big L, joey bada$$ vs Hopsin, papoose vs cassidy, nas vs rakim and Kendrick lamar vs old lil wayne..?

Eminem, Big L... can't decide

Hopsin is a better rapper, he has better concepts, Joey has better wordplay though... I'm still taking Hopsin

Cassidy, Papoose... again, can't decide. Both can make meaningful songs, and both have blazing hot punchlines... I'd probably pick Cassidy though

Nas

Kendrick Lamar, old Wayne was still trash.

Who is a better rapper Kendrick Lamar or Big L?

Kendrick has more of a variety of music and knows how to be more of an artist than just a rapper so he's better.

Big L is good at rapping and making punchlines but he's not exactly diverse but he is good at rapping

Papoose v.s. Cassidy???

I heard that these two had Beef with each other.

My question is, Who do you think is better, Papoose or Cassidy.

My favorite is Papoose then Cassidy.

Top Rappers of All Time:
1. 2pac
2. Biggie
3. Big L
4. Nas
5. Jay-Z
6. Eazy-E
7. Papoose
8. Cassidy
9. The Game
10. Young Jeezy
(Just My Opinion)

RHH: Is Big L the pioneer of modern rap?

Possibly, you have somewhat of a point here. Maybe not always a direct influence, but he made it more popular.

2 PAC vs TODAYS RAPPERS SONGS LYRICAL SKILL?

Today's rappers are mostly bad however there are some decent ones like Papoose, Cassidy Lloyd Banks and at times Lil Wayne.I'm also a mark for Ludacris. What makes them good is their lyrical ability and for some their songs.However,2 Pac had better songs and for the most part better albums than most rappers today.A big argument I always have with people is WHY DO THEY BASE RAPPERS SOULY ON SIMILES AND METAPHORS?If we are having that argument than you might as well say every rapper today is better than 2 pac which I and most people I know wouldn't agree with.I have heard a lot of great lyricists in my day but are most of them selling Diamond like Pac did?Nah I don't think so.So the question is who made rap souly about similes and metaphors being the basis we judge a rappers skill on?Imo you can be nice on the mic but have no catchy songs what so ever.Don't get me wrong pac did have his moments here and there but for the most part he wasn't a punchline rapper and his music was still awesome. What is your take on this argument?

Does rap need good music?

Not really. Good rappers should be able to rap over bad beats. Examples:Danny Brown (When I’m Clownin’) - That motherfucker managed to make a song BY INSANE CLOWN POSSE with a terrible beat that sounds like an orgy between circus members sound almost decent. He went off on it, and just made ICP look like the low-lived rat bastards they are, but worse.Ludacris - This beat was made to be horrible. It sounds like a terrible attempt at minimalism. And he managed to ride the beat like a motherfucker. I’m pretty sure it was 11/8 time signature. Just watch the video, you’ll see:Kendricl & Papoose (Lyrical Gangstas) - I feel bad for Kay Slay. This song is dope, but the beat is just bad. Just bad. And yet, Kendrick manages to spit one of his, if not his best verse of his career. It sounds like some weird Star Wars/Yeezus-type shit, but to 120% settings. It's bad. And by bad, I mean bad. And, last but not least, if I had a nickel for every time Lil Wayne went off on a mediocre beat, I would probably own Quora by now.

Who's more talented: Nas or Big L?

Nas has a better discography than Big L. But if you put Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous and Illmatic in it, I would say Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous. If Big L had more time, I think he might have been better than Nas. Because one thing I have to say is everyone goes crazy over "I never sleep because sleep is the cousin of death" line when he read it somewhere and flipped it "There she met sleep, the brother of death" - Homer. Illmatic was great at rhyming but the lines that people went crazy over were a little too much overrated.

RHH2: Yeah, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmvjYb6Zh...
"F*ck it, if I die tonight, I hope my last rhyme was tight, hope my last dime was right, and worth the fight, hope my 15 minutes of frame was worth the price, hope I left more than some money and crummy advice"
It hit me hard because he went into surgery when he wrote this and he could had died. So he thought more about his fans, and what he left behind than him living. Dude has a passion.
