Who Would Send Multiple Certified Letters At Once

Why would an auto insurance company send a certified letter?

Insurance is a heavily regulated industry. Companies have timelines they have to meet to stay in the good standing with the state's department of insurance. One recurring theme is that they must communicate with you and handle your claim, your inquiries or changes to your policy. They will often call you to provide an answer but you will still receive a letter explaining exactly what their position is, often with policy language quoted. The most efficient way to document or prove they notified or communicated with you is by certified mail.

Certified Letter from SC DSS?

About 45 days ago I was a victim of Domestic Violence. DSS contacted me advising since it happened in my home they needed to meet with my children and I. The meeting went well and I never heard anything else. She stated she had to talk to the "aggressor" and get his side as well. I am now getting notice of Certified Letter from DSS being held for me at Post Office. Any ideas why I would be getting a letter?

Why would someone receive a certified letter from the IRS????

IRS sends certified letters 30 -45 days after they had sent you a letter and you didn't reply in the allowed time.
Usually a certified letter is for unfiled tax returns and IRS sends the Notice of Defiency certified giving you 90 days to file the missing returns, or IRS will file for you. IRS will file as single, no exemption, no deductions other than standard deduction. The letter (LTR3217C) provides you with the summary of income (wage information reported to IRS) and if you don't file your own return then more likely to have a balance due.
Once you go to the PO to pick up your notice call the phone number listed on the letter. And be patient you may be on hold for a while.
If you don't want to call then just read the notice and provide IRS with the information requested with the the allotted time.

When a loan company has sent a certified letter what happens next?

How do you know they sent you a certified letter? Oh, you signed for it and opened it?

Important rule, never sign for a certified letter. That is legal proof that the letter has been received.

If they have a court date, you have to go to court and fight it. They can do nothing without a court order.

Write the company a letter, disputing the charges. They will counter immediately with a letter saying that you owe it. Keep sending them letters disputing the charges and keep copies of all correspondence.
