In which ways do individuals gain fame and fortune today?
Reality TV. You can be a unemployed beach bum living on the Jersey Shore, get picked up by a network to star in a show, and voila!...you have fame and fortune. There are dozens of shows on the air like this that promote instant fame and recognition for little or no talent. The Housewives of "blah,blah,blah"....is another that comes to mine. American Idol/America's Got Talent....television is certainly the medium that produces the most "15 minutes of fame and celebrity" possibilities.
Why are so many People today Naive or Stupid?
There is a long statement that you got there, well in my opinion people are like that because the culture and the recent media, which is the best country i meant with the best students at collage? Why do people pick on shy / quiet people?
im a shy and quiet person and i been picked on badly since i was 7, and it effected my self esteem since. like when i was in the 1st grade, this girl would always call me ugly, ever since then, i just didnt like the way i look and i dont look in the mirror at all today. im 17/18 and im still having low self esteem. im not ugly, but i feel like a alien. and sometimes i feel like a monster, idk why. im really a nice person, but a lot of people think im mean just because im quiet, thats why i choose to alienate myself from society because people treat me like an alien, and it freaks me out.
Why is the comment "We should've picked our own cotton" racist?
If we picked our own cotton, we'd have received the "whole experience"...your back would be getting somewhat tight...not just you getting the credit and $$. Not racist..just a known fact.
