Why are people in Yahoo Answers so rude?
Not everyone on yA is rude, but it is a platform for many to vent their problems on others, and not have any accountability.I used to use YA until realizing most of the responses I got were from cynical, judgemental people just looking to rustle feathers and diagree with you. I asked a q once about my dad who never worked most of his life. I got an answer from a guy who said I dont know what my dad before so don't judge. The guy didn’t want to help answer my question (which wasn’t relative to his answer) but he spoke like knew me and my father…like he knows that I dont know what my father did before - it was absurd. You realize how hypocritical people are that they criticize you for your question, then give you a self-righteous answer. They contradict themselves because they are basically saying u are wrong (and an idiot) and theyre right. It doesn't take much to see the insecurity in people who act like this… and it's actually quite pathetic when u think about it. What sad lives people have to invest their day putting someone else (who they will never know) as a means to better their day.It is a sespool for the uninspired.

Why are some people on Yahoo Answers so rude?
I know what you mean, some people can be so rude on here. I guess they think they can say whatever they want because no one knows who it really is. However, there are some very nice, decent people on here. I would just ignore the rude people because there is nothing you can really do about it.
Why are people on yahoo answers so stupid?
Not everyone on here is stupid. However, stupidity seems to be rewarded, trolls are applauded, it's absurdly easy to make several accounts and build them up to 2nd level, and "community" moderation is a joke. Add into this mix the fact that most of the most active posters are teens with nothing better to do, and you get a bunch of yahoos answering. To fix this, Y!A would have to get a lot of real moderators, and they'd have to be pretty active. The change wouldn't happen overnight, but it could happen. For one thing, Y!A would have to crack down on alternate accounts. It would also have to be more active in removing troll questions and answers, and in banning trolls altogether. I'm an administrator for a rather large internet message board, and we DO have a large active group of moderators, who actually look at each violation report and determine whether the post needs to have some sort of action taken. We're pretty well-known for being death to spam and trolling.
What if I brought all of the dumb people from Yahoo Answers over here?
No major problem will happen as most of the times moderation team will be able to block and ban them if those users try to do something wrong.If they try to give those kind of unwanted answers those will be collapsed due to downvotes or by moderators.It is not much about the people actually, it is more about how people are allowed to behave in general. I am sure there are quite a few people who are both on Quora and Yahoo Answers and they behave differently on both platforms.It is more about the platform, on Yahoo Answers there is no moderation and people are allowed to do whatever they want, but that is not the case on Quora. So most of the users from Yahoo Answers will try to replicate that behavior initially buy when they will see that is not working, they will either leave, get banned, or change their ways and behave in the way Quora community wants to.

Why are some people unpleasant on Yahoo Answers?
They are bored, and they think that being nasty at other users is a game.They are frustrated and they want to vent out their rage, and Yahoo Answers’ poor moderation becomes a place for them to complain about society’s problems. As a result, sometimes they would have no regard for proper spelling or grammar.They have become so obsessed with gaining points and posting more content, that they would even behave like jerks just to have higher scores, as though they are addicted to Yahoo Answers.They are extremists who would otherwise be kicked out of other websites for their poor behaviour.
Why are people at Yahoo! Answers so bad at mathematics and spelling?
So you don't think people are bad at spelling & mathematics in other places? I don't think that's exclusive to Y!A. I don't look at homework questions, but even though there are people who aren't consciencious about spelling, I think the majority are. To answer your question, some aren't bad spellers, but are just careless and don't proof, some are poor spellers and don't care to spell check or look things up first (lazy)... some just don't care how dumb they look.
Why are so many dumb people on here?
The most I see are black/white racists, political nut jobs, and these people who ask a question and completely ignore the correct answers and choose the answers they like.
Why is Yahoo Answers so stupid?
Because of yahoo making stupid counter intuitive site changes to it 4–5 years ago and the fact they’ve slowly been pulling support for anyone on the site who wanted to report/control all the undesirables on it over the past few years (even with the massive increase in them over the past few years) basically leaving it to people who just want to screw around/not bother googling stuff rather than ask any intelligent/serious questions.The biggest problem with Y!A was that the site was always USER moderated, with yahoo only getting involved in report appeals. And while that worked for a while it doesn’t anymore since they’ve either sold of or abandoned supporting any of their site’s other sections (news, personals, sports,etc). So it naturally allowed all the trolls/spammers/idiots to basically do whatever they wanted with no way to stop them….. so naturally anyone with any intelligence who had been using the site, left. (like me)
