Why Are My Emails Are Saying Unknown

Is simply replying to an unknown email  a threat?

Just opening an email is not a problem anymore. It actually was, once upon a time when Outlook allowed email body to have Javascript code. So, the moment you opened the email, the malicious code would run and cause damage. This vulnerability was later fixed so, it’s no longer true that opening an email may cause virus infestation. By extension, replying to a spam email shouldn’t cause any problems by itself either but it isn’t advised to do so. You’ll also notice that browsers no longer auto-display images in new/unknown/spam mails.Emails can still contain viruses in the form of attachments or false hyperlinks. People usually get duped when they see hyperlinks like: http://www.faceboook.comIt looks like facebook on first sight and if you click it, you’ll probably get infected with a virus or other malicious content.Best practice:Never reply to spam emails.Never open attachments in emails that you get from unknown sources.Always keep your anti-virus up-to-date.Don’t allow auto-download of programs.

I keep getting Dutch spam emails for an unknown reason. What are some common Dutch words I can use to filter out promotional emails?

I don’t know any common Dutch words for this, however, you do. Read the emails. If your language of choice isn’t Dutch, choose words that don’t have anything like them in English and seem common to those emails.A second help is to tell your email client that you don’t want Dutch emails. In Outlook and many other email clients you are able to set rules for incoming messages. Send all Dutch messages to the junk folder. Those will end in .NL for Netherlands.Again, in some email clients you can tell it or set the country codes to be allowed in and which to ignore. They can often be sent to the junk folder or even deleted outright. Read the help files on spam and there should be plenty of examples to use.

How do you address an unknown person in an email?

First example:Let's say you want send an email to an internet company (Forzen company, for instance) and ask about their services. You don't know the name and the position of the person who will be reading your email. Is this how you'd start your email? :Dear Forzen staff member,I am writing to ask you to..............................Here’s another example:We always used to write "Dear Sir/Madam" for letters, but for an email that does seem a little too formal."To whom it my concern" is too impersonal. And "Ladies and gentlemen" sounds like you're giving a speech.I have seen "Dear:" but I think it looks strange. If you don't have a name of a person, I would probably go with "Hi," or just leave out the salutation altogether.I really hope this helped.Good luck!

Unknown email attached to my account?

It is not easy to find them. A spammer got into your account and grabbed your contact list. He didn't send the spam from your account so they won't show up in your SENT file. He sends out 2 spams and then disappears. If you can still get into your account, you are ok. By the time you run your anti-spyware, the spammer is long gone. You have to think if you clicked on any links in an email or visited a malicious website.
