Why Did The Fda Sue A Doctor Who Successfully Cured Cancer

Mexico is cancer free??????

Several years back, I knew someone who had a child with brain cancer. He was tol that this 12 yr old had one month to live.
The parent found out that Mexico was cancer free ant took his child there for treatment. He was cured. Has been cancer free for 24 years.
Has anyone heard of this? How do I get info about that?

If someone found a cure for cancer, could they trademark it or continue to renew patents and prevent others from using it forever?

By “cure,” I'm assuming you mean some medicinal cure--a pharmaceutical product. The way this works in the United States is that shortly after discovering the molecule, you would file for a patent. That essentially starts the clock ticking while you investigate the drug…that is, test it in human beings. You'll have twenty years for the entire length of the patent, so you'll want to finish your research as quickly as possible, which--to be generous--will leave you with about 10 years to launch and sell your cancer cure.Let's say your original patent is for 2 indications: NSCLC and liver cancer. That's what the FDA will “approve" your cure to allow.Of course, doctors may use it off-label, but let's say doctors see some success in stomach and esophageal cancer. You might decide to conduct some follow-on studies (that could take another couple of years to complete), and those studies might also show promise. You submit your findings to the FDA, and they approve a line extension (NILEX). You could then apply for another patent extension. It would only be for a couple years at most. You might also have some good chemists and engineers; they might reformulate the drug to have a longer release in the body, which makes it more effective. You might be able to petition for a little longer extension on the patent, but not much.In short, patents last 20 years from the time they're filed. You can get extensions for legitimate reasons, but they're not endless. You could not prevent people or other companies from copying your work forever..

Has anyone heard about Dr. Tarang’s cancer healer center? Does it help cancer patients or is it just making money?

Just went through the educational background of Tarang.Points to be noted1 There is no MD degree in homeopathy or Ayurveda, which he claims to be.2 PhD in oncology is not a degree to treat cancer patients.3 From the thesis topic he had mentioned in PhD degree, it creates doubt about the degree. From the title of the thesis , thesis doesnt appeal to be genuine.Science research thesis titles are generally never written in such a very general terms.4 Immunotherapy is in human trial phase in many types of the cancers.Cost of Opdivo, an immunotherapy treatment approved for melanoma and lung cancer costs about 150000 dollar i.e more than 1 crore for a year. How many Indians can afford this cost? I don't understand what kind of immunotherapy business is he doing?5 I can’t find any sign of research achievements in cancer or any kind of high skill training in cancer in his profile.6 cancer field is so diverse now, each organ system is treated by specific experts. brain by expert of brain, lungs by expert of lungs, GI by GI expert or along with a team of experts from different fields and so on…One doctor can't be expert of each and everything. Its not possible for a single doctor to manage all the complications of a cancer patient. If you spend some money or have some connections, you can buy/get any award in India. You can buy celebrity as well, to promote your business, either it's a business of selling oil or anything you can imagine of? So, dont be fooled by his awards and advertisements. His father, a zoologist, discovered immunotherapy (this is a baseless and foolish claim) but I can't find any research paper or a patent about his discovery. Most important consideration, using any drug on humans without a proper human clinical trial and approval from FDA/govt is a serious crime. Now its upto you to believe the healer or not?
