Why do I have gray hair at such a young age?
It's not uncommon that people in their younger years experience graying. Melanin is produced in the hair bulb and when it does not produce melanin it causes the hair to grow out gray. It can be hereditary, or it can come from many other factors. Don't think that gray hair is a sign of aging, it's actually not; your hair is just missing color pigments that is produced by melanin. Hope this helps... Note: There are seniors who have not had one gray hair; so you don't have to be old to have a gray hair.
Why do I have gray hair @ 13?
Is it genetic? Someone told me it was b/c of not eatin healthy? Ad also, is it true, that if you pull one gray hair, 2 more grow in it's place? What can i do to stop these gray hairs? ( I have like 6 of em all over my head, and idk y? )

I'm only 15 and I have grey hairs....?
I'm really freaking out! I have a couple of grey hairs and I wasn't even looking hard for them and there are more. I have dark brown hair so its really obvious (and definitely silver-grey not bleached)... I'm really scared because I quite like my hair and its basically the only thing I like about myself (with a history of eating disorders and depression and self harm and the rest...) I guess I have quite a good diet, I drink lots of water hardly any alcohol. My shampoo and conditioner are good (my mum and sisters and a friend all use the same one) My dad went grey at about 35 but first got grey hairs at about 25 - the same with my grandma. My mum and her mum have all had good, long lasting hair colours. I know I can dye it but I really don't want to because it makes your hair not as nice. But I probably will have to. What do I do? I'm so scared and really embarrassed and just want it to go away! Any tips - I would be grateful... xx

Do hamsters gray with age? Our Dusty used to be a brown hamster, but lately is turning gray, mostly around her ears and neck. She's only about a year and a half old, that's not really "old" for a hamster is it?

Stress and genes can cause gray hair. If it's caused by stress then it's considered pre-mature aging, because you can slow it down by destressing. But, it sounds like it's genes since it's happened on your dad's side of the family. I read a blog post by a woman who said she started graying in high school and was fully gray when she was in her late 20s/early 30s. I've seen her picture and she looks much older with all her gray hair, so it can age you. But, I agree that it can be worse. At least you can dye your gray hair, but there is no easy, cheap solution for balding; I've seen a 19 year old balding and it made him look much older, too. Dye your hair if it begins to really bother you. I don't think head trauma causes premature graying.
