Why Do I Need Drivers Now Never Have In The Past

Why did they ask me for my Driver's License ID?

I just started to babysit for these people, and they asked me for my Driver's license ID.
I have never been asked for it before, and now people that I know are suspicious and think it could be identity theft, but wouldn't they need my social security card for that?
They are very nice people. I though that maybe they needed it for Background check history, and now I feel dumb bc I never thought to ask them why they needed it. She has the DL number already, but she is still asking for a copy of my whole Driver's license.
Now I don't want to give it to them. My husband says that I need to ask them what they need it for, which is what I plan on doing.
What do you guys think?

P.S. if you met these people you wouldn't think they would be after identity theft, but still why would they need it?

20 years old and never had a drivers license. do I need a permit first?

So I've had a fear of driving which has caused me to have no interest in driving until now.
I never took drivers ed or got a learners permit.
I did take my drug and alcohol test online and passed.
I'm a single mom and I'm ready to do this.
I live in Florida.
Does anyone know if I can go straight for my license or if I need a learners permit.
i figured because I am an adult now that I wouldn't need a permit but I'm hearing mixed thing.
Does anybody know if I would? If I do how long would I have to hold it?
Thank you =)

My parents never take me driving, and I need to get my license.?

I got my permit when I was 15 and a half, the exact month I was able to. I passed the test on my first try, I studied hard and took Driver's Ed. My mom acted excited about me getting my permit. She took me driving once around November around the neighborhood and then told me "I scared her too much to be in a car with her."
The only mistake I made was not pulling up to a stop sign completely and my depth perception was a little off.
She didn't take me driving for real again until January. I turned 16 in February. Now I go maybe 3 times a month? I've been on the intersections and all that but I still need a lot more practice. She refuses to let me drive if my sisters in the car and well, she's always there. It's not fair! I have had my permit for MONTHS and she didn't do HER job. And now I have to pay the consequences.
I just got my first job, and she won't let me take behind the wheel and get my license because "I'm not ready."
Because she didn't do what she was supposed to.
What should I do

Can i take drivers training if im 18?

I really need to learn how to drive. I took drivers education in my sophomore year in high school. However, i never did the drivers training portion because i did not have the money. Now i am 18 and now i actually need to start driving. The problem is, many driving schools offer services to 18+ people, however they all say you must have a "Learners License" (Im pretty sure thats not the correct term, but thats the way they said it on the website). Now that im over 18, how would i go about getting a "Learners License"? Btw, learning how to drive from my dad is not an option,.Hes too nervous.

If I have never had a driver's license, how can I get charged with driving on revoked when I get pulled over?

It takes some real stupidity to end up with a charge of driving with a revoked license if you never had a drivers license. But, it can be done! The “driving with suspended/revoked” statute in your state says something like, “No person shall operate a motor vehicle while their license is suspended/revoked OR his right to apply for a license is suspended/revoked.”So, if your right to apply for a license is suspended or revoked, then you can be charged with driving while suspended or driving while revoked.(A quick explanation: A “suspended license” means that at the end of the period of suspension (usually one year), you will automatically be allowed to apply for a license. A “revoked license” means that the end of a period of time (usually one year), you can ask in writing for the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles/Secretary of State/Whatever) to reinstate your right to apply for a license. The DMV will then decide whether to lift the revocation and allow you to apply for a license.)The quickest way to get your right to apply for a license revoked is to drive drunk. Get drunk, drive near the police stations, get a DUI, plead guilty, and the state will revoke your right to apply for a license. If you are caught driving again, you will be charged for driving with a revoked a license. There is, however, a more tortuous way to get your license revoked:If you’ve never had a license, the first time you are caught driving without a license you are fined. In addition, your right to apply for a license is suspended for a period of time—usually six months to a year.If you are caught driving while your right to apply for a license is suspended, the state will extend the suspension of your right to apply for a license for a year.If you are caught a third time driving without a license, then the state will revoke your right to apply for a license. If you are caught a fourth time, you will be charged with driving with a revoked license. It is rare, but with determination and an extraordinary lack of common sense, it can be done.

Is it fair that I have to be designated driver at 16?

My soccer coach was thrilled when I got my license, he was like great now you can be a designated driver because you are to young to drink. I thought he was kidding but the past 2 fridays he called me at 10:00 at night totaly watsed wanting a ride home. When ever I suggest if there is someone else to call he pulls this **** saying never mind he can drive home. (no way in hell). My parentsd know and are glad I am "giving back" He has been my coach since first grade (I am in 10th now). I wouldn't mind like once a month or so but its every weekend and I don't want to complain to him for fear he won't call and try and drive home intoxicated possibly caqusing harm to his self or others. Do I have a right to complain or should I suck it up?

Do you know anyone who should never have been given a driver's license?

Me.I have almost no depth perception. To get my learner’s permit, I had to pass a written test and a couple physical tests, one of which consisted of looking into a box with three objects, similar to pencils. Each “pencil” was able to be in any of the three positions, and the positions could be randomized each time. The three objects were carefully constructed so that at their distance, they each looked the same size. No lights, no shadows, no something passing in front of them, all possible clues to their distance removed. The idea was to say, left to right, which was closest, furthest, and in the center. They all look the same distance apart to me. My brain does not process the distance information. However, due to the way the permit test is set up, you’re allowed to go back and take it again. The assumption is that you’ve failed to learn the rules, and you’ll go back and study and get better. But in my case, I aced the written exam, I just didn’t pass the depth test. And I took the test again the next day, and the next day, until I did happen to randomly get it right. After all, there are only 6 possible ways to arrange 3 items. I was almost certain to guess correctly in 6 tries, an average would have been 3.5. I got it the third try.I have carefully never taken such a test ever again. Now, that said, I’m a good driver, and I’m careful. I use all those clues that they excluded to tell how far away things are. I’ve been driving for over fourty years, this does not seem to be a crippling handicap. But the system is stupid, they should never have let me keep retesting a physical deficiency until I got a “passing” result!
