Why Do My Feet Keep Falling Asleep

Why do my hands and feet keep falling asleep?

It could be a sign of muscular dystrophy, but there are many possible causes of tingling and that sensation of muscles falling asleep:

Remaining in the same seated or standing position for a long time
Injury to a nerve -- for example, a neck injury may cause you to feel numbness anywhere along your arm or hand, while a low back injury can cause numbness or tingling down the back of your leg
Pressure on the spinal nerves, such as from a herniated disk
Pressure on peripheral nerves from enlarged blood vessels, tumors, scar tissue, or infection
Shingles or herpes zoster infection
Lack of blood supply to an area -- for example, cholesterol (plaque) build up from atherosclerosis in the legs can cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking (this is called vascular claudication); frostbite can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness

Other medical conditions, including:
Carpal tunnel syndrome (pressure on a nerve at the wrist)
Diabetes
Migraines
Multiple sclerosis
Seizures
Stroke
Transient ischemic attack (TIA), sometimes called a "mini-stroke"
Underactive thyroid
Raynaud's disease
Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body
A lack of vitamin B12 or other vitamin
Use of certain medications
Toxic nerve damage due to lead, alcohol, or tobacco
Radiation therapy

36 weeks and feet keep falling asleep?

my feet keep falling asleep even when Im sitting down... is this a normal pregnancy thing or is it something I should mention to my doc at my appointment on the morning?

Why does my feet fall asleep?

When your foot falls asleep, it's not blood but nerves. Nerves carry feeling from your body to your brain. And when you stay in one position too long, sometimes you squash your nerves and lose feeling. After you move around, and the nerves are no longer compressed, the feeling in that part of your body comes back. So don't worry when this happens. Everyone has something fall asleep once in a while.

Why do I shake my foot while I'm falling asleep?

I do that too!! I think it could just soothe you like a lulliby or something.

Why do my feet always fall asleep?

I sit indian style a lot and my feet/legs are constantly falling asleep. Why does this happen? Should I be worried? I don't want to have to change the way I sit because sitting indian style is really the only way I am comfortable, if not for my feet falling asleep on me.
