Why Do People Leave Everything Until

Why do some people think everything's about them?

OMG your mother is just like my mom. My mother is Narcissist

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a personality disorder in which the individual is described as being excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity. This condition affects one percent of the population.

With my mom she makes EVERYTHING about her. Her favorite line is, "What about me". Whenever I tell her a story, she tries to see how it affects her and usually will tell me a story about her.

I had to pray for her and accept her for who she is. It does suck at times being the parent per say. Sometimes you want to have a mother to talk to versus one who competes with you.

Why do people trust God so much? And leave everything in his hands?

See, thats people’s choice what they want to do but what i think is you can never leave “everything “ in his hands and wait until its done.. No thats not the way things work what you think does God gave everything to the millionaires .. lets take an example Bill Gates .. does God gave everything to them .. NO.. what would have happened if he left everything in God’s hands.. So thing is you gotta give your efforts first in anything you want to achieve and than parallely just trust in God without giving any bribe or expecting any fruit just count on your efforts and beliefs not God..

Why is it human nature to leave everything important until the last minute and spend the time we have doing nothing? And how do we improve our prioritisation process?

I think it's to do with the need to motivate yourself. You were motivated to get a 2:1 but the extra effort wouldn't have seemed worth it. I procrastinate regardless of whether I enjoy the work, though the stuff I enjoy will get done quicker. So enjoyment can motivate but human nature wants to use as little effort to get the same reward. I think your mind is designed to resist work so that you only do it if you really have to, which was useful back when we went hungry and were living in caves. Now I find the best way to do it is to try to focus on the end result, all the relaxing and rewards I will reap. If that fails then I put a early deadline for myself, a few days to a week before the real one so that I am pressured into doing it without actually running the risk. I did once have a mad panic to get work in, until a friend pointed out that it was due a week later. I find once I start a piece I'll finish it in one or two goes, but I know people who'd rather do an hour a day instead. You can find quite a few books in most book shops that are dedicated to getting stuff done.

Why do some people put everything off until last minute?

My fiance is driving me nuts! he cant accomplish anything ahead of time be it chores, work projects, preparing for a holiday or even my birthday or our anniversary. He does everything the day of or before even though he promises weeks ahead that things will be done. He often stays up until 4am the night before an assignment or project is due and sometimes he doesn't even get it done! I am 8 months pregnant and it's stressing me beyond belief, I have tried everything from gentle encouragement, to expressing my deep dissapointment to full out fights. Why is he like this? Is it a personality problem? Any tips for what I can do as it's making me reconsider my marriage that I can never count on him to get things done ahead of time and his rushed mania at the end of a deadline often leaves him unable to help me with things he promised, like errrands, dinner or being at doctors appointments with me. Does he need counselling? Thanks for your input, and I am mostly just trying to see if this is a personality type I need to get used to, or more a disorder that needs help!

Do you think $10,000 is enough money to leave everything & start a new life in Hawaii?

The nest egg is good, but the questions are:
Will you be getting any help from the parents, since you are still in school?
Will you be working FT & going to school PT or the other way around?
Are you open to living w/ other people?
Do you have any work skills or will you be doing entry level (minimum wage) work?

Minimum wage does not equal a living wage, so if you are counting on that, you will definitely be drawing on that 10K.

As far as Hawaii "taking care of its own", look at it from the employer's perspective: He has 2 candidates, about equally qualified for the job. One is local, the other is from the mainland. The local kid knows the lingo, he understands way island folks interact, he is probably living with family, so is more likely to be able to make it financially, he doesn't have unrealistic expectations about what it means to live in Hawaii, he won't get homesick, & at the end of a year is much more likely to still be employed. The mainland kid... well, he or she just can't compete. The employer has probably already hired more than a few mainland transplants who have moved back within the first year, after he has invested time & money in their orientation. If that is looking out for their own, well, I personally don't think you can blame them.

It sounds like you may be struggling with at least some degree of clinical depression. Many people come here harboring some sort of fantasy that living in Hawaii will solve all of their problems, but it rarely if ever works out that way. I would recommend you get your life on track, get yourself into some profession or trade that will give you marketable skills & then think about moving here.

Why are people greedy and always chasing money (wealth) till the end, though they have to die one day, leaving everything behind?

We are all born followers. Some people follow religion, politics, some people climb mountains looking for what, I don't know.I don't believe anyone starts out chasing money, we usually chase another person. Remember puppy love.Once the puppy love wears off and we grow up and have to work 8 hours a day, it soon becomes obvious what the chase is all about. After we boil it all down - people aren't worth chasing so nothing else is left but the money. Sad but true.
