Why Do People On U.e Benefits Loose Benefits When They Reapply

Can i apply for unemployment benefits if my work hours are unstable?

I am a PCA and in the last 5 moonths ive worked for my agency, my hours have went all over the place. i started out with 6 hours a week, got 3 new clients and myhours went up to 32, then dropped again to 25. IF none of my clients cancel on me during any given week. I get 25 hours a week. i have yet to go a whole week without a client calling in. I have had clients call in at the last minute and cancel on me, for illness, or other various reasons, and i dont get paid or reimbursed for any of that. I am looking for other work, but in the meantime, i would like to try to apply for unemployment since i read you can collect benefits if your work hours are reduced or vary. Could i be eligible? it would be temperary untill i find more stable "9 to 5" work. thanks.

Will I lose my unemployment benefits if I go to rehab?

You cannot collect unemployment benefits while you are UNABLE or UNAVAILABLE for work. So at the very least, you'll lose them temporarily.

If you're worried about getting off something you're hooked on, how about trying a 12 step program? They're actually MORE effective than rehab. And they're free.

Can I lose my unemployment benefits if I miss the REA Assessment?

I live in ohio and I'm scared that I've been cut off of my unemployment because I missed the REA Assessment appointment that had been scheduled for me, because I live a half an hour from the place I was supposed to be for the assessment and I do not own a car and there's only one bus that comes through my town and it only runs twice a day in the morning and evening. The appointment was scheduled on feb 14th and I missed the bus by like 5 minutes in the morning and couldn't find any one to take me to the appointment. I called the place I was supposed to be at and ask them if I could be rescheduled since I missed the bus and they said I could be. But I remember getting a letter that said that if I could not make it to the scheduled appointment there may be a loss or delay with my unemployment benefits. Now will I lose my benefits even though I rescheduled the REA Assessment Appointment?

The real reason I'm also asking about this is because I normally file online for my benefits and when I log in it says under new claim no new claim can currently be filed and under weekly claim it says no weekly claims can currently be filed but when I call the 1-800 number it says "You were previously instructed to file your claims ever week, you may not file until February 17th 2013" but how's come it doesn't say that on my home page after I log in? does that mean that they have cut me off of unemployment? I'm confused because it would usually show the next week I'd have to file for but I wouldn't be able to click on it until that day comes. Help me I'm confused!

Can you collect unemployment benefits in NEW JERSEY while attending graduate school part time at night?

it will be determined by WHY you lost the job and if you meet all the other criteria.
QUITTING A JOB DOES NOT DISQUALIFY YOU IF YOU HAD "CAUSE" TO QUIT.

if you fail to accept a job because of your school schedule you could then lose the benefits but going to school alone does not disqualify you. generally if you quit work to go to school you don't qualify but that is not what you are asking about.

there are no time limits to apply but you should apply as soon as possible because your ties to the workforce as well as your income in the past 5 quarters (15 months) are used to determine eligibility and benefit amount.
generally applications for benefits can not be backdated and benefits are NOT retroactive past the Sunday of the week you apply.

going to school does NOT disqualify you but if you fail to accept a job because of school then that fact may disqualify you.

What are unemployment benefits and how are they different from social security benefits?

Unemployment benefits are paid when you become unemployed. In the U.S. it must be through no fault of your own. If you are fired for cause, no unemployment. Voluntary quitting is a gray area and many people scam the system. Unemployment is administered by the state in which you worked. It used to be possible to collect unemployment simultaneously from two different states. The benefits are funded in part by your employer through a government assessed payroll tax. If you get unemployment, the taxes paid by your former employer will rise. They will be paid on every employee’s salary . Therefore, employers have an incentive to contest your application for benefits if you don’t deserve them.Typically the benefits expire within a year or less.Social security benefits are based on age and on the combined contributions of you and your employer(s). They don’t expire. They are administered by the feds. If you retire, your employer is not penalized.

Unemployment benefits in Philippines?

you must be kidding right? the philippines is not a benefit state like a lot of the western countries, where they pay unemployment benefit when you're out of a job. otherwise, with its population, the government would long ago be bankrupt (and this would be long before the marcoses, et al, raided its coffers). it doesn't even have a good public health system, just look at the state of its public hospitals, and its public works leaves a lot to be desired -- if you've driven in the philippines you would know what i mean.
