Why did LION called as the king of forest? And Why did TIGER called as the Lord of Forest?
I can tell more about lions because I like this big cat, though i cant touch and hug them but still they are my favourite.Lions! They deserve the title “KING OF JUNGLE” . The features you find in a king who fights for his kingdom, same features you find in lions. It is factually incorrect to say that the lion is the king of the jungle because the lion lives primarily in the Savannah, or grasslands.They live in group called pride,that is the best thing about lions..Like a king with his kingdom.They make their ILAKA( AREA) to live with their PRIDE. As soon as their cubs( male) grown up, they throw them out of group to find their own way and destiny.LIONS can never tolerate the interference of other lion in their family neither their cubs…. I repeat NEVER!! The other lions are always considered as rivals. If you surrender the leader lion will leave you, if not you gone!! only lion brothers can live together. outsiders are always killed.In the lion’s pride the lionesses play the important role though, leading lionesses totally take care of every cubs and teach them hunting, search for food, attack on animals,take initiative to hunt.They make smart strategy to hunt. One lioness will go to the opposite direction and others will be in one direction, when she starts running behind any animal quite obvious the animal will run in opposite direction to save its life, and there whole group will be ready to jump on it. And as soon the food reaches to their area, the group attacks and kill it.Lions generally dont hunt first, lionesses attack first, if the animal is heavy or uncontrollable then they call male lions and most interesting thing is lions understand for what purpose they are calling. And when the KING attacks the animals have very less chance to alive.Every male lion of the pride in few days goes to check the border of their ilaka, that is the compulsory part of their pride. so that they assure rivals are not entered in their area and their return takes few days or week!!I know less about tigers but tigers are also more or less like lions only, but they dont live in group. They lives in jungle where they do not make huge ilaka like lions.but cant bare presence of other tigers.
Why do people say lions are the king of the jungle when tigers are bigger?

With his impressive mane, his role as protector of the pride and the fact that he dominates his pride and his competitors alike, he can be compared to a king wearing a splendid crown and ruling over his land and people. The jungle part is less clear as they do not (nor did they ever) inhabit such habitats. It seems likely that this label derives from the fact that many impressive wild beasts are said to originate from the deepest, darkest and most mysterious regions on earth - the jungles. The title would certainly not suit or depict a tiger, they lack a majestic mane and do not rule over their own kind. They do however live in jungles, at least some subspecies anyway !
Why do people call the lion king of the jungle when tigers are the true kings of the jungle (read below)?
They look more wild, strong, and commanding. Their mane gives them a brave, large look and their golden color makes them look very, well, kingly. However, I do agree with you. They shouldn't be called the king of the jungle if they don't live in the jungle and if they aren't even the largest "king" like animal.

According to an episode of Animal Face off I had seen when I was young, The Royal Bengal Tiger (235 kilograms) got The Asiatic Lion's (190 kg) throat. So Tiger's the Mighty King! And if you want to cross countries, then The African Lion (189.6 kg) and The Siberian Tiger (weighs 176.4 kg on an average with limit being up to 222 kg). Historical Siberian tigers (318 kg) were larger than The Royal Bengal Tigers, and sadly they don't exist now, whereas the ones found now are smaller than Bengal tigers..So, The Royal Bengal Tiger is The King of The Jungle anyhow. Why isn't the tiger the king of the jungle?
I will explain this question nicely.First of all, when we say KING OF THE JUNGLE, it means that we are looking for an animal that has the qualities of a king. He himself is a powerful warrior. He knows different strategies. He has his army. He lives in colonies. He hunts in group. And at the end he does not unnecessarily involve in fights and nuisances.And when we talk about animal kingdom, the beast we come upon, who has all these qualities is the LION.A lion lives in pride, has his army, the alpha male is the strongest, they kill together with strategies and so on and on.Talking about the tiger, yes, he is more stronger than the lion. He is bigger and heavier than lion. In fact, he is more fierce. But unlike lions, tigers are solitary animals and they move away from their mother at the age of around two. They have only two things to do - defend their territories and hunt down for food.This is how you will generally find an adult tiger-alone, because they are solitary animals.So if you are talking about being mightier, then tiger is mightier than the lion, BUT when we say about being KING of the jungle, it is undoubtedly the beautiful beast - LION.

Ah! The good old lion VS tiger debate! I have read many documents and seen many documentarys that spoke of battles between these two. My conclusion is that, the tiger is by far the superior hunter of the two. The tiger has been known to attack animals the size of elephants, rhinos and hippos. They might not be successful that often, but the tiger IS capable of taking down the huge Gaur, also known as the Indian Bison, which may weigh well over 3,000 lbs. The tiger is more of a hunter than the male lion, but I HAVE seen video footage of a male lion taking down an adult giraffe. Lions are pride hunters, where as tigers are solitary hunters. Now even though I've givin the hunting edge to the tiger, I give the fighting edge to the male lion. The male lion lives to fight. They fight amongst each other on a regular basis. They fight amongst each other for dominance, breeding rights, with members of other prides, etc. In a one on one battle between a full grown lion and a full grown tiger, I would give the edge to the lion. The tigers favorite attack is the suffocation bite. It likes to sink it's teeth into the throat of it's prey, thus suffocating it. It also likes to latch it's claws into it's prey as it's biting the throat. The lions main defense is it's mane. It's mane protects it's neck and throat, which means the tigers favorite attack would be nullified, or at least not at good as it normally is. The siberian tiger generally weighs about 100 lbs more than the tiger, as it has a solid build and a long body, as the lion is taller at the shoulder. Who is the king? Well, it's common to say that the Lion is the King of the Jungle, but it all comes down to what you base the "King" status from. Do you base it off of effective hunting methods? Do you base it off of aggressiveness? What do you base it off of? In my honest opinion, the true kind of beasts, at least on land, is the Polar Bear. It is the ultimate predator, killing animals up to 5,000 lbs. I hope this helps you decide who you will declare the true King of the Jungle!

Why is the Lion called the King of the jungle, and not the Tiger or the Elephant or anyone else?
Lion is called the king of the jungle because he is the most dominant animal in the jungle. A pride of lions hunts for every animal in the jungle because they are a force to be reckoned with. lions are at the very top of the food chain and no other predator whether hyena , cheetahs or leapards even come close to the monopoly like lions have in the jungle. it is not just the lion’s monopoly or dominance that makes him the king it is also the social structure of a lion’s pride. A male lion is like the sun and the rest of the pride is like the planets. They revolve around him. He is the protector of the pride from other animals as well as other lions , who would gladly kill the cubs in the pride to make sure their own blood line is furthered.The male lion is the pride’s tank. He is much larger and heavier than a lioness , making it hard for him to keep up the pace in a hunt but the same weight is very useful while fighting. His mane does not blend with the surroundings. it is more of a territorial flag and shield agains tooth and claws of other animals. making it very hard for the male lion to be a effecient hunter. Still the male lion gets the first right to eat a kill because he has to keep himself in the optimum state to defend the pride.So , it is all about the lion’s appearance , social structure and dominance in the jungle that makes him the king.
Why is a lion considered king of the jungle?
How is a lion the king of the jungle when it would lose a fight to these animals? Tigers,certain crocodiles,Gorilla and maybe even a bear. If anything a Tiger would be the king because it is the biggest and toughest cat.what do yall think?
Are lions and sibarien tigers stronger then bears and kill bears?
i knoe it all depends but i think i noe that a sibarien tigers are very furious and can kill bears like sloth bears panda bears and even big black bears that are over weight and have lost all of there strenght but big bears like grizzley's or polar's are pretty stong and can kill lion or a tiger but like i wonder whitch has a more sharper teeth strong jaws and claws would a grizzley or polar kill and eat a lion or a tiger because in tv when i seen a pack of hyenas eat lions and lions cubs to!!
