Why Does Anew Toilet Needs Adjusting

Why does my toilet make noise all day?

OK look! Dont listen to Ben H....he's here to confuse the bejesus outta you! If the tank fills, then shuts off, then 5 minutes later starts filling again (which is what it sounds like is happening) its more than likely the flapper. 5 dollar item....change it first.....If that's not it then you would need to change the flush valve....the tube coming up in the middle of the tank and its what the flapper hooks to......In order to do that you would need to remove the tank from the bowl (which is not always easy) The flush valve has a nut that holds it on the tank which is located on the bottom of the tank.....once the tank is lifted from the bowl then you would unscrew that nut, its big, and remove the flush valve and replace....then replace tank.....

NOW, if your toilet fills up and does NOT shut off then you would need a new fill valve which is what is holding the float, whether it be the big ball type float or an internal float. You dont have to remove the tank to change that out. It's pretty self explanatory if you have any mechanical sense at all. I'm tired of typing so if you have any questions then feel free to email me

Why does my toilet run every few minutes?

Either your float needs adjusting our you need a new filler valve.

Take the top off the tank and see if the water is all the way to the top of the tube. If it is you may just have to adjust how high the water level is.

If the water is about a half inch below the top of the tube you will have to buy a new tank rebuild kit ($10 and about a half hour) to fix your problem.

You can test to see if you have water leaking into the bowl my putting some food coloring in your tank and see if it shows up in the bowl.

The push button flush on our new toilet keeps sticking. How can we fix this?

The toilet is only two months old. The flush button is split into two. Whichever we press, it usually sticks, and we have to lift the lid off the cistern and manually push dwn the large blue plastic cylinder inside to stop the cistern from constantly re-filling. Is this something we can fix ourselves? Thanks in advance.

Why does my toilet run every five minutes?

After flushing, the water fills the tank to about an inch below the overflow tube and stops. A couple minutes later the toilet will run for a minute or so, then stop, then repeat about every five minutes.

I've looked in the tank while it's running, and there is no water coming out of the refill tube, and the water level is still an inch below the overflow tube.

Is this most likely the flapper, or could it be something else? I would think if it were the flapper, the water level and float would go down and more water would come out of the refill tube, but that's not the case.

Any help is appreciated!

Why is my toilet flush so wimpy?

Just moved into a new house which is about 20 years old. The toilet flush is useless. When I looked under the cistern lid and watched the flush it only seems to use half a tank of water before is stops and fills up again. Any ideas?

I can't see a 'flapper' but it has a little internal water tank a 'siphon'?

My toilet won't stop running.?

forget what Tim Kimb said as there are no chains with your model.

All you have to do is adjust the screw on top of the fill valve to the left side of the toilet clockwise until the water stops. usually they need adjustment when you have a new toilet. also there usually is a water fill line inside the tank adjust the screw until the water stops running at the line.

Good luck.
