My 98 ford windstar only blows out of the defrost vents, why?
i would say a broken or disconnected vacuum line check in the engine compartment first there should be a vacuum line coming from your engine into the firewall to your heat if that one is OK then check under the dash for one
I have a 2001 Astro Van. Air don't blow out of dash vents. How hard is this to fix yourself?
this can be either fairly simple or a real bear of a problem- if your fan motor is running and you have no airflow, look under the dash for any disconnected ducts- if they are all in place then it's likely an issue of tracing the vacuum lines (checking for leaks, bad spots etc.) and checking the vacuum valves that control the airflow for failure. as for book, probably the Haynes manual for your vehicle.

i have the same van and the same prob. too. there must be sumthin wrong with the circuits but ford has always been unreliable

There are several possibilities.1) faulty teperature gauge. In this case the gauage will have to be replaced. This is relarively simple and inexpensive depinding on the make and model of the car.2) Issue with the radiator, coolant of the car. This could be caused due to insufficient coolant, leakage of coolant, damage to the radiator of the car. This will require extensive repair. Heads blew a few months back , hubby did all the mechanical work. Car has been driving fine. The A/C was working great for 2 weeks. Then it started circulating from Defroster, to feet, then to front vents. Now it is just strictly Defrost. When it's HOT it takes a while for the whole van to cool. Any help out there?
