Why Does My Cat Act Like She Don

Cat is acting like she doesn't know me.?

I've had my cat for almost 2 years now. She should be around the age of four-ish.
She is acting like she's never seen me before.
She used to be really affectionate to the point you couldn't get her away from you for anything and was generally very quiet.
Over the past few days I've noticed she is meowing much more than usual, I feed her regularly and she always has water so it can't be any of those. When I try to go over to her to pick her up thinking she may be lonely, she just runs and hides from me. She has always been a little timid but you can usually get her to come to you easily.
I was away for a week and a half, I left her at home with my boyfriend and her parents who adore her so I have no reason to believe anything happened to her while I was gone. The only thing I can think is the fact I was gone for a little while, but even that doesn't seem like a good reason for how odd she is being.
I'm really worried =/

Why does my cat act like she wants attention but when I pet her she runs away?

When a cat wants attention, they usually want it their own way. Are you typically standing up when you go to pet her? A lot of times when a person is standing up and goes to pet their cat, it can be a scarier scene than if they are sitting down. Imagine a giant bending down (making themselves appear larger) and extending a hand to touch you. Try getting down to her level and offer your hand, don't go to pet her right away. If she rubs against it, slowly stroke her shoulder or back. Try not going for the head first, it may make her shy away. Good luck with your kitty!

Why does my cat act like she's always on catnip?

If your cat is only just about half a year old, she is energetic because she is a young kitten who is exploring the world and herself. Think of her as a 12 year old who finally have enough freedom and body control to do exactly what she want, and still enough curiosity and lack of experience to explore everything. It is pretty normal that kittens are highly energetic, it will wear off as the cat grows older. Most cats mature between the age of 1 year and 3 years, depending on the breed.

Why does my cat want me to watch him eat?

Some cats just love attention. If you are near them, they feel loved. My cat right now is calling me, but it is to play with her windup fish. Just pet your cat. It may also be that he feels you don't spend enough time with him. Just set up a time that you play with him everyday, and it should lessen.
p.s. i don't mind when my cat acts like this, i think it is cute!

Why does my indoor/outdoor cat act as if he doesn't know me when he's outside?

Territory is the most important thing for your handsome kitty. Assuming he’s neutered, his territory is probably your (his) home and possibly your garden, and contains his resources, of which you are one. He’ll venture outside his home to take care of various clandestine catty things of which you are not a part, so you are not really relevant to him there. You know that he recognises you, but doesn’t seem to acknowledge you, and it’s only when you’re super-persistent that he relents and comes over to you. I suspect you’re missing the incredibly subtle body language that has said “yep, I know you’re there, I’m not ignoring you, I’m just busy. See you later!”. It might be as obvious as a tail flick, or as subtle as a blink. For a cat, that’s a clear acknowledgement! If you’re able to quietly observe your cat during his patrol outside his territory, you’ll see him do exactly the same thing to other cats. Then they might follow up with some sniffing, tail wrapping, or hissing and yowling, but there’s a lot of communication we miss out on with these subtle, expressive felines!

Why doesn't my cat like catnip?

It comes down to individual cat preference and variations in the type of catnip. Some cats are just very particular and might have no interest in any kind of catnip. However, the majority of cats will take an interest in some form of catnip. The thing is, what we refer to as catnip can be different varieties of plant— and some cats prefer one form of it over another.Out of my four cats, two of them like catnip in any form or variety (although one didn't seem interested until she was fully grown). Of the remaining two: one will go crazy for any form of the catnip that we grow at home—eating it fresh off of the plant and also eating it after I dry and crush it; the other cat really only eats it fresh from the plant, but she loves that. The “fresh stuff only” kitty does also like catnip filled toys, but she only eats the fresh stuff.See, if I had only ever seen the reaction of the “fresh only” cats after giving them the store-bought catnip, I would have thought that they didn't really like catnip. But they go crazy for the fresh stuff. So, it really can depend on the type of plant and whether it is fresh, dried, spray-form, etc.But if you do not have other varieties available, it's not like your cat is missing out on something they need. It's just a fun treat for those who like it, and it's not the end of the world if they don't.

Does a cat remember its owner? After a month trip, she doesn’t act as same as before. It seems like she prefer my mom to me.

Yes. You need to understand that cats will punish you in ways THEY think appropriate. I never hit my cats or dogs but did give one of my cats a very light half smack, half push on her flank to get her off my island cutting board. She’s Siamese & the oldest of my three cats & alpha Queen of the World. She jumped up on a tall Japanese Altar table (like a narrow sofa table) where I had a beautiful porcelain painted table lamp. Before I could get across the room, she stared at me as she pushed the lamp crashing to the floor. We had a black Oriental cat who’d lie draped around my husband’s neck when my husband was in the bathtub. One day my dumb husband thought it was funny to hold the cat’s front & back paws & lift her over his head into the water. I arrived home an hour or so afterward, & this cat, who “talked” like a Siamese, was waiting in the hall to tell me what had happened. She just complained & complained while I heard my husband laughing in the living room. I picked her up & cuddled her & put her down & she deliberately TURNED HER BACK ON MY HUSBAND. She kept this behavior up for many months. If he fed her she’d tip out her food onto the floor & come crying to me to fill her dish. He’d object & I’d tell him to live with it because he caused it. I do not tease my animals & they trust me completely. My daughter’s Maine Coon cat if yelled at to stop something, or picked up off the table, or moved from the spot on the couch where he was sleeping, would go & pee in her husband’s work boots or poop on his pillow, so if a visitor or relative moved the cat, her husband or she would run to make certain the bedroom door was closed & then pet & baby the cat to get him to forgive whatever might have pissed him off. Your cat is punishing you for leaving for so long.

My cat acts like she's been abused, but we've had her since she was a kitten and have never hurt her?

If you walk near her, she'll either cower towards the ground or sprint off. I don't know what's wrong with her! Her sister, who we got at the same time, is perfectly fine and is very cuddly. We've taken her to the vets but they said nothing was wrong with her. We've looked at all the possibilities, like other cats on her turf, but nothing adds up. Help?
