Why does Yahoo mail say I have 3 unread messages, but there are none in my Inbox?
Open the inbox, click View All Messages, then unread messages, if you have any late arrivals or in folders they will show. Yahoo was contacted about this and say it's a glitch, they have their engineer working on the problem. This was happening to many of us while using the Classic Mail since Yahoo has been upgrading the classic and other sites, It did clear on it's own in a few days without doing anything to correct it.

Please let customer care know, or please message me you user id. This usually is a rare case, it is possible that one of our maintenance programs might have failed, or because an IMAP transaction failed at some point. Either way, it is fixable.
Why does my Yahoo email account think I have 2 unread messages that aren't there?
It has been this way for months & it is driving me crazy. It doesnt show them on the main yahoo page, but when I goto my mail page it always shows 2 more unread messages that I actually have. Or it shows 2 unread if I have no unread messages. Is there a way to fix this? And yes, I have checked completely through the old messages, there are no unread ones. Thanks for any help.

When I log into Yahoo mail it always shows one unread message when there is none. If there is one new message, it indicates there are two, if two - three, etc. It always shows one more than is actually there.

Try switching to Basic Mail. It is less loading intensive than full featured mail. Maybe this will fix the problem. Go to Settings, Viewing Mail and get it at the bottom of the screen.

I saw someone else ask the same question, but nobody had any useful answers. I can't see the unread message in my inbox, or in the bulk, or in any of the folders I have created. That message about Your unread messages are NOT your Messenger messages, they are your Mail Messages, and they would be ay unread messages in your INBOX or filed messages in other folders So just go thru your mailbox and read them or delete them -OK edit:(9/6- day following added info) i see you added some other info here: I USE ALL of what yahoo has Mail messenger Webmessenger Classic for chat & text and there are new changes made to where there is a tab for any "offline messages' so HOW could you have any UNREAD Messages? You stated that you were using Mail for messenger -- Usually when there is ANYnumber it is the unread Mail Messages. I have tried for 2 days to see what you are talking about. How do you delete all the inbox yahoo mail messages without clicking each individual box?
Rahul Jaswal is absolutely right. You will need to check the box directly above the column of individual email boxes to select all of the emails on a given page for deletion (please see annotated screenshot) You will need to do this for each page of emails you wish to delete. Hope that helps!
