Why Does Time Go By So Fast

Why does time go by so fast?

Daily, I find myself looking back and not being able to remember what happened, or how an event got so far away. A half a year seemed like two seconds. Even when you think time will never pass...it passes faster than expected even to me who lives the dullest life possible--Time flies and Im not even having fun. I look back and I'm like wow, that was three years ago. Or, oh wow we havn't hung out in four months.
I get depressed about it sometimes, and frustrated that I don't remember things very well. I fee like I'm living a half-life. I rule my life around the clock and its sad. I wish there was no such thing as time.
Like "just yesterday" I was in New Mexico it feels like, but that was almost ten months ago
I moved to Washington, and I hated it. But its been five months now.

For the older folks....40 years- did it go by so fast or slowly for you? That length of time is almost impossible for me to wrap my brain around. It seems so full of stuff and memories-but do u remember?

Why does time goes so fast?

well its never gone any faster or any shorter since you were born, so technically it doesnt go fast, since you have no other sense of time to compare it to..

Why does time go by so fast in the morning?

I think time is relative. Depending on your age, activity, etc. time will vary. I remember seeing a science show about time and it made perfect sense. Now every time I see old people driving so slow, it is not really their fault. Their "clocks" are running slow. They think they are operating on normal time but to everyone else, they are slow.
in your case, since you were in a hurry, and just moving constantly, time was also moving fast (relative to you).

I wish I could remember the show. All I remember is that Dr. Michio Kaku was one of the hosts.

Why does the time go so fast?

Time moves relative to how you perceive it. If you feel like time is going fast, then it is going to go by fast.People say that time is constant. It is at a constant rate and nothing you do can change that. However, that does not change how you view it. Take for example a marathon runner. You look from far away and watch as the runner runs the marathon. You have no way to measure the time he or she is running. Do you think he or she is fast or slow? You can hardly tell.It also applies to your perception of your life. You don’t measure the days and months that go by. You just watch and do what you have to do.Time moves by fast. Every second is precious. Find a way to make the most of it.As for your comment, I understand you entirely. Although I am only 14, it feels like 13 was only days ago, and 12 a week ago. I understand what you mean by feeling depression and I too, have done things I wish I could do differently. I regret many things, and feel that, if time is moving this fast, then there is no reason to live anymore. There are moments where every second feel like the last second. And every year is just another one of those seconds compared to how many more years there are to come for the human race. Thinking about it all, it feels as if the relevance of each of us is minuscule. However, it is not. Think about it this way. We each can feel a second. We each can feel time move forward, and we all can have different perceptions of it. Then, what if we took those seconds, and added those to the seconds and minutes of others? Does the value of a second mean more to you now?Look, I am not going tell you and say you are a fool for dwelling in the past. To wish that the past was able to be changed.I am not going to say you are wasting your time. I am not going to say that you wasted those years. Nor am I going to tell you what to do and what you should do to change your life. There are things that shouldn’t be changed directly. There are things that we shouldn’t just pass off. What we should do is change our perception of things. Look at those years in the eyes of a child rather than in the eyes of an adult. Wouldn’t a child be appreciative of those years?Perception is everything. There are no regrets if you learn to accept it. Our relevance is little to the world, but enormous to our closest friends and family. Time is only as fast as you view it. I understand why you feel like that. I truly do.

Why does time go by so fast when we sleep?

It doesn't. You spend the REM part of your sleep dreaming. Sometimes dreams can seem much longer than the actual time you're sleeping. In your case you probably don't remember your dreams, or remember very sketchy details and hence it feels like you weren't asleep long.

Sometimes I've felt like I've been asleep for days.

What you can try doing is lucid dreaming.

Here's a good place to get started

Why does time fly by so fast these days?

I noticed in this day and age of the year of 2017, it seems like time flies by so quickly and an hour seems to only be 10 minutes and that whole hour goes by quickly especially if you are busy and don’t look at the time being bored. Why is that? Why does time go by so fast?

I also noticed months go by so quickly and before you know it, it is October and I tend to procrastinate on things and can’t believe it is already going to be a due deadline by now. This goes to show you that I can’t keep putting things off because months go by when you want it to still be August. Back in the 90’s, it seemed like everything was slow and time always dragged on but now that we are in the future, this decade seems to be a quick moving pace. Why is this?

Why does time go so fast when your drunk?

It's a perception. George Berkely always said "essa est percipi" (to be is to be perceived). When you are drunk, there are still 60 seconds in a minute.

Why does time go by so fast and life is so short?

Time goes on at its usual pace. Its circumstances which makes us feel the time speed faster or slower. When we are having good times ( Outing with friends, On Date with loved once, Watching movies, sleeping, attending wedding, travelling), We don’t care about time as a result it seems like it has increased its pace. Now lets analyse how much time we have in hand considering the average human living for 60 years.8 Hour - sleep (20 year)3.5 Hour - travelling, roaming etc (8 year rounded)7 Hour job - ( 17 years)Ceremonies, festive, holiday 20 days per year ( 4 years)60 - (20+8+17+4) = 11 yearsSo you live 11 years in 60 years approximately 4.4 hours a day. This is why it seems like time is going in faster pace. Now if you want to slower the time pace ride the tread mile and run at 12 km /h. I promiseEvery passing minute will make you feel like a month long .(4.4 * 60 * 300 (from a year)) = 216 year (this will be your life).

Why does time fly by so fast at night!!!?

it's all your mind's work, when i was doing nightshifts too, i couldn't sleep in the night but it seemed like time running too fast. It's because when no people around you in the night mind doesn't follow the time correctly as it does in daytime. It expects more things to be done or more talking to be done or to see more people, which doesn't happen at nights when u r alone, besides if u r surfing web and chatting with friends time runs way too fast anyway
