Why Is It Taking So Long To Load My Verizon Yahoo Page

Why is Verizon's website so slow?

I'm trying to access my account info on Verizon's website and I've been waiting about ten minutes just to log in. I was wondering why the website is so slow...

Removing ads in verizon yahoo mail?

Yahoo likes to make you believe that you have to upgrade to get no more ads, but some time ago, when they had technical problems and accidently placed a script in the box on the YA pages instead of the flash ads normally displayed, I found out that adyield-manager is used to place personalized ads. Adyield manager uses cookies to track your browsing habits, so you may get a different ad displayed than somebody sitting right next to you. That prompted me to look for solutions since I don't like to get spied upon, and I found several good solutions...

Download and install the latest Firefox browser:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Also install "adblock plus":
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Result: no more annoying ads! And pages are loading much quicker too...:-)

http://www.admuncher.com/ - this adblocker for the IE (and other browsers) gets highly recommended in several forums.

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26171/safari-adblock - for Safari Mac
http://opindian.com/blog/2009/02/25/adblock-solution-for-safari-4-windows-and-mac/ - another solution for Safari 4 Win and Mac.

I personally have the Firefox installed and don't even see anymore ads on the YA pages...:-)

Why is my website taking so long to load? Is it the images?

Check out a "waterfall" measurement (free on Pingdom.com):http://tools.pingdom.com/?url=ht...There are more advance tools you can use, that are more expensive if you want to test load time from multiple geo-locations and time of day (two that come to mind):gomez.comkeynote.comA few things you can do, use some tools such as "YSlow [1]" or "Google Page Speed [2]" extension. They have some basic advice how to optimize, but a few "tricks" that most skilled front-end (and backend) engineers know:Use sprites + CSS instead of distinct images whenever possible.  Each HTTP request sometimes hogs up the pool of threads users' browser have to get all the individual imagesUse a CDN (content delivery network). Why does Yahoo keep asking me to prove that I am not a robot?

Who’s to say you’re NOT a robot, hmmm??? Lol I kid, but the only reason being is that there are hackers out there that have developed limited-capability Artificial Intelligences that can assist them with hacking. While the actual hacker works on a super-secure site, the robots can go around and do the grunt work of breaking into the less-secure websites. The biggest key to noticing them is that the mouse moves around very robotically, nor can a robot detect pictures’ details (since these are just strings of code to the robot, not a picture of something). Thus, the secure websites ask you this to make you move your mouse in a non-uniform motion, which a robot cannot mimic for the time being.

Why is my Verizon Wireless bill so high?

The 700 minute talk & text plan is $99.99 per month. if there are no other features, then there is overage somewhere, or someone downloaded some monthly subscriptions. Taxes are usually $10-$20, but I've seen them at $30-$40 depending on the location & lines of service. Go to www.VZW.com & log in as the Account owner. Over to the right where it displays the Amount due, click 'View Bill' under the total. Once that page loads, at the top in a gray button, it will say 'Print Bill.' It will pull up a PDF scan of the detailed bill which is exactly what the Customer Service rep's see when you call in. It will have everything on it down to the time, date & location of every call mad or received in that billing cycle.
