Why Is Malcolm Young Not Featuring On The New Album Of Ac/dc Rock Or Bust

What is the back story of Malcolm Young leaving AC/DC in 2014?

Several sources are pointing to an unspecified illness as the reason for the 61 year-old rythm guitarist's retirement Most sources also concur that the other members of the band have agreed not to discuss the illness. It is possible that if the health condition requires treatement at a facility that the nature of the condition may leak out, but for his sake, I hope his privacy is respected. Without naming Malcolm Young, Johnson [lead singer Brian Johnson] said in the same interview that one of the band's members was not well. "One of the boys has a debilitating illness, but I don't want to say too much about it," he said. "He is very proud and private, a wonderful chap. We've been pals for 35 years and I look up to him very much." [Billboard, link above]The timing is especially sensitive as the band just announced a new album - their 17th - called Rock Or Bust and a 40 date tour (to mark their 40th anniversary as a band). You can read their official statement here. The band's record label* (Columbia) has declined to provide further detail, although this is "share price stuff" so we will see. Malcolm and Angus' nephew, Stevie Young, will be replacing Malcolm pro tem as rhythm guitarist for any live appearances. * well, one of them: they are represented in different territories by different labels.

What was your reaction to the death of Malcolm Young from AC/DC?

A2A…Thanks.My job in my band Priest /DC is to play the Malcolm parts. I spend hours listening to the left channel A LOT. To me, this has hit me pretty hard knowing there will ever be anymore Malcolm brilliance. Most don’t realize, that Malcolm is the primary riff writer for AC/DC. Angus gets the glory, and Angus certainly is amazing in his own right, but without Malcolm and many many of the hits of AC/DC don’t exist.Another fact many don’t know, is Malcolm played 12–58 gauge strings! They are seal clubbing strings!! Very difficult to play given their tension and thickness, but also responsible for the deep sound, yet treble tone which made Malcolm so powerful. As I stated, I literally spend hours listening only to the LEFT channel to hear Malcolm isolated. I encourage anyone who wants to appreciate him the way I do, is listen to some of their songs with just the left channel.I’ll leave you something to listen to. This is just Malcolm, looped in Thunderstruck. This rhythm riff is simply brilliant and quite difficult to play correctly.Last night, I saw Guns N Roses and given Axle’s involvement with AC/DC it was not surprising that they gave a nice tribute. Axle dedicated Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door to Malcolm, and then after that song they played Whole Lotta Rosie.Rest in Peace Malcolm…you will be missed greatly.

Who are Vanda and Young in Australian rock music?

Music in general, not just rock, will definitely affect how young people think, though I don't think it will necessarily "corrupt" them, and even if it does, I think it happens indirectly. If certain video games can trigger violence, then I don't see why music wouldn't. But it's completely up to the person whether they're going to act on those impulses or not. If they do, then there's a good chance that they were already very aggressive or whatever to begin with, so it's definitely not entirely the video game's (or in this case, the music's) fault. It's basically the young people's choice whether they should get "corrupted" or not. I'd say 95% of the time, rock music is not harmful in any way to young people.

Why did ACDC kick out Brian Johnson in the middle of a tour?

Someone has already answered this correctly, Brian Johnson was not kicked out of the band ACDC he had a problem with hearing from constant concert touring is my guess. When Bon Scot the previous lead singer was found dead outside someone's place in the backseat of a car in Feb 1980, during an English winter in London from acohol and drugs (choked on his own vomit). ACDC were working on their next album which became BACK IN BLACK, they were faced with the question, ‘Do we stop as a band or find a new singer?”Brian Johnson was working in north England and was a sole parent when he got a call to come down to London to try out in auditions for ACDC.He got the job because he did something no one did, he surprised ACDC when he sung NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS by Ike and Tina Turner! From April 1980 to when his hearing problem became too difficult to ignore he had been consistently touring singing in front of one of the loudest Rock and Roll bands on Earth. He was temporarily replaced by Guns &Roses singer Axel Rose so that ACDC could fulfil their touring contractual obligations.Where now with Brian Johnson, some recent media reports state that if ACDC continue with sole founding member Angus Young then it can only happen if Angus seeks the services of his nephew Stevie Young (son of brother Alex Young) on Rhythm Guitar, a new drummer or Phil Rudd, a new bassist or Cliff Williams and Brian Johnson on vocals. The next ACDC album if it ever comes out will be in my view possibly ACDC's last ever album. As a 12 year old fan since 1976 to now 2018 aged 54, I and millions around the world will be in mourning to some degree over ACDC's end. But there music will live on.IN ROCK WE TRUST!

Why did AC/DC have two singers?

Actually AC/DC had 3 singers. The first was Dave Evans in 1973 and is most famous for "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" with the B-Side of "Rockin' in the Parlour."However, Dave was a bit too "Glam" and not enough rock for the Boys Down Under and was replaced with Bon Scott in 74. Bon Scott had the rough and tough edges to complement AC/DC's sound. They re-recorded "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" (my personal fav pick-up line) and released "High Voltage" in 1976. Rock Gods were made. With Bon Scott they released "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," "Let There Be Rock," "Powerage," and "Highway to Hell." Then on that fateful night of February 19, 1980 Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning. Legend says he sold his soul to the devil to make Highway to Hell a success but that's how rock 'n roll mythology is.Work on "Back in Black" had already been begun so at the insistence of Scott's parents the Boys auditioned several singers and they hired Brian Johnson. They finished "Back In Black" which became the Billboard's second highest selling album of all time.
