Why Is Music So Powerful Why Does It Make My Cry Sometimes

Why does some music make you cry?

Moving of emotions…Songs make us cry not always. Songs are written to tell a story of how the writer feel or a writer may write a song to express a feeling. It be a happy feeling, feeling of losing someone, love, craziness and many others. All these are felt in a song, and when you relate to it, it has the power to elevate to higher standard of emotions. No the question to why songs make us cry are simply based on the choice of words and the reaction and feeling attached to it by the writer. It is also based on the sound in which it is sung. For instance, a dull song speaking of loneliness can't be accompanied with a happy tone in voice. It is based on the expression given by the writer to be exerted on the singer that would reach out to the heart of the listener.A writer may write a lyrics full of emotions but when it is sung wrongly by the singer the message becomes misinterpreted. Some songs might drive you into tears by watching the expressions of the singer even when it has a bad vocal quality and it can also divert your attention and concentration to it by just listening to it…The quality of a song is given by how well it is sung, expressed and felt by the listener.A song is another way of speaking to the souls and hearts of audience listening…

Why does music make me cry?

It depends on what you’re listening to, but if you like music with appoggiaturas it could be causing the tears.Twenty years ago, the British psychologist John Sloboda conducted a simple experiment. He asked music lovers to identify passages of songs that reliably set off a physical reaction, such as tears or goose bumps. Participants identified 20 tear-triggering passages, and when Dr. Sloboda analyzed their properties, a trend emerged: 18 contained a musical device called an "Appoggiatura."An appoggiatura is a type of ornamental note that clashes with the melody just enough to create a dissonant sound. "This generates tension in the listener," said Martin Guhn, a psychologist at the University of British Columbia who co-wrote a 2007 study on the subject. "When the notes return to the anticipated melody, the tension resolves, and it feels good."Chills often descend on listeners at these moments of resolution. When several appoggiaturas occur next to each other in a melody, it generates a cycle of tension and release. This provokes an even stronger reaction, and that is when the tears start to flow.Source: Anatomy of a Tear-JerkerWhat’s an appoggiatura?

Why does the song Channa Mereya make me cry, in spite of the fact that I have never been in any relationship to date?

Channa Mereya is the most closest to my heart and one of the best song I’ve edited in my editing career.Despite of its genre, it is a sad song but one of the most beautiful song if you have listened it carefully because you did that’s why you cried.Let me tell you the story behind it. When me and my team were making the trailer of its movie Ae Dil hai Mushkil we didn’t have any idea about this song till I watched the last segment of the movie where Ranbir asked his counsel to sing a song for last time. And god, when I heard that I literally cried in front of my entire team and I am a kind of person who don’t usually cry. After watching that segment, I called Pritam sir (Music Composer) to ask him whether he had composed any song like this and he told me that that is the exactly same song which they had done and it will be on our way for edit.I cannot tell you how much happy I was at that moment. And finally, when we got to hear this song and after watching its raw cut I literally fell in love with this song and with Arijit Singh again. This song has so much passion, love and sadness involved in it. This song is dedicated to all the lovers who had ever been in one-sided love. And Shahrukh sir said it right in the movie “Ek tarfa pyaar ki takat hi kuch aur hoti hai, ispe sirf mera haq hai, sirf mera”.And thank you all for making our song still one of the best in the market and we hope that we were able to stick this song in your hearts.

Why does music make us feel stronger?

Not all of it does.  Some makes us cry.  Some gives us a feeling of impenetrable darkness and brooding gloom.  Some makes us want to dance and move our bodies.  Some makes us want to bang our heads.  Some makes us want to strangle the musician playing it.  Some makes us want to fight.  Some makes us want to run.  Some makes us want to float in the pit of swirling panes of glass that surround and reveal the ever-present "it".  Music that rips my heart out or instigates sadness doesn't make me stronger.  It makes me feel emotions that need to be felt, but not strength. The primal connection to music is what makes us crave it.  The release of endorphins and adrenaline make us feel empowered sometimes; depending on the music.  So music whose intent is to do that, does it by those means.  Certain chord structures instill vigor and hope.  Certain rhythms syncopate with our heartbeat and intensify our feeling of energy.  So I'd say these factors are what make strength inducing music do its thing.

Why does anime/manga make me feel so emotional and make me cry?

Well, anime in general, all in all is more emotional and interesting for me than most other fiction. Don’t get me wrong, I love fiction, and I love all kinds of it. From reading books, comics and manga. To watching series, anime and movies. But I have found that sometimes Anime is more interesting, with deeper meanings, plots and characters. Yes sometimes you get superficial anime thats sole purpose is to just show “oppai” and be perverted. But some like Shigatsu wa kimi no uso, Fullmetal Alchemist and many more was created to inspire and entertain those that want to think and feel. For example, In 2011 i never knew what anime was, although i had Dragon ball z and Digimon as a childhood “animation” behind my name. My life was pretty bad and I was at a bad spot. A really bad spot. My friend saw this and told me to turn to fiction, and that is where he gave me Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. I watched it and fell in love. I felt a connection to the character Edward and made his last quote my life directive.“A lesson without pain is meaningless. For you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return. But once you have recovered it and made it your own... You will gain an irreplaceable Fullmetal heart”So from there on I took anime seriously and watched more of it. This is where i am today, at 22. Still watching anime and reading manga, but mostly grown up shows such as Hellsing Ultimate etc.So its a good thing! And I respect you for that! Do not let other people discourage you from things you love.I should also point out that western movies concentrate more on plot and settings than characters and moments. Yes some movies are excellent and their moments are great. But, just like you, I find Anime better.

Why do I cry when I listen to gospel music?

Like today I was listening to some gospel music by Kirk Franklin and Vashawn Mitchell and for some reason I started crying silently. Note that I don't really go to church that much, is the reason because I'm crying because of I'm ashame of myself or is it because it I'm happy? Like Idk...cuz I was listening to Lean on me by Kirk Franklin and Nobody Greater by VaShawn Mitchell and the words to the song just hit me.

What are some of the most meaningful powerful songs Lil Wayne has written?

Never wrote or sung ANYTHING worthwhile.

Just another thief with a label with songs about drugs, money, kill the cops, bling bling, *uck a ho, etc....

5 years from now, nobody will remember who the hell he was.
