Why Is My Hair So Sticky And Greasy Even After Washing It

Why is my hair so sticky and greasy even after washing it?

I washed my hair three freaking times today and my scalp is all sticky and greasy looking. It just started today too. I don't use hair products (just the occasional argon oil, but I don't rub it in my scalp) I switched to Head and Shoulders (just the shampoo, not the mixed kind) and it worked fine but I noticed today so I switched to Pantene. But it still won't work.

TBH, I usually wash my hair three times in one shower just to feel extra clean.

WTF!? Is it buildup? I heard that baking soda works. Is that true? I don't want to go to school tomorrow looking like I haven't washed my hair in weeks. :(

My hair feels greasy and sticky AFTER I wash. I noticed the change after I dyed my hair darker. How can I fix?

Try changing your shampoo & conditioner to something which is colored hair friendly. Your hair is feeling like that because it has become unhealthy. There are few natural products which works as natural conditioner and makes your hair healthier, like egg, yogurt, lime etc. Food habit has also a lot to do with your hairs health. I would suggest you go a see a good doctor before your hair starts falling off.

My hair feels sticky even after I wash it...?

You need to use a clarifying shampoo now and then to get rid of buildup. Most major shampoo brands have a clarifying version and you should use it about every 2 weeks to get your hair completely clean so your regular products can work better.

Everything feels sticky or greasy?

Is there high humidity in those rooms? That will make things feel sticky. Do you give things a good vacuuming? When was the last time you shampooed your carpets and furniture, too? Do you keep something like the Clorox or Lysol wipes around to swipe down bathroom sinks, fixtures, kitchen counters, seats, etc? Doorknobs?

Do you have a steam cleaner to clean and disinfect things....a steam cleaner for the floors, carpets, smaller spaces? (those are the teapot types that come in handy). Do you have a good tub/soap scum remover? Scrubbing bubbles or Ka-Boom make it easier with the foaming bubbles and clean scent.

Do you wipe things down when your're cleaning using a microfiber cloth? Those are excellent for getting out the nitty-gritty....and then just toss into the wash.

Dishware done by hand....do you use Dawn? great for de-greasing dishes or other items you want to freshen up in the sink by hand.

Do you stay on top of dust (as best as anyone can because it's always there! lol)....use the Swiffer products...the 360^ duster, and there's the long=handled one, too.

EDITING: to add: a product like Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner is great for giving a clean appearance to things like granite, wood, leather, etc....works wonders! ;)

Magic Eraser for tough areas of grime works wonders. If you go through and do it and then stay on top of it, it should feel totally different for you. If high humidity is adding to the problem and you don't have an air conditioner...see about a dehumidifier, that could help.

Why does my hair feel sticky after i wash it?

From personal experience: spray-in conditioners don't really tend to do the trick for my hair. A spray-in conditioner is less like a REAL conditioner and more like a detangler. If you use panteen conditioner in the shower, you'll notice your hair will be much less sticky when you get out of the shower. Plus, a conditioner will allow you to spread the conditioner evenly throughout your hair. It'll keep it looking and feeling great after you shower, after you blow-dry, or even after you towel or air dry.

Strange hair problem- "sticky"/"greasy" hair after wash?

This started not very long ago- at first I thought it was from new shampoo-conditioner I was using, but even after I stopped use, it continues.

My hair is slightly sticky/greasy-looking, on the top of my scalp after I wash my hair. It really acts as if I had put gel in it there.

I thought maybe it was from the new shampoo-conditioner so after I stopped use my mom tried washing that area of my head with vinegar- which helped for a while and I thought it was gone, but it is back (and i have not used that shampoo or conditioner).

It is the strangest thing and I have no idea where it is coming from. Does anyone have any ideas of what is happening or how to fix it? My family and I are all baffled.

Why is my hair so sticky recently?

I've had this problem a few years back and I tried washing without shampoo for one day that time as my whole hair got stocked together. Now the same problem is starting to surface and I realise there is white sticky things stuck in my comb on the strands of hair that fell off. I've tried washing my hair longer but It doesn't seem to Help. I'm always changing shampoo everytime and never stick to one as my father is very savy when it comes to buying shampoo, ending up that he always buys unuseful and wrong kind of shampoo -.-lll How can I make sure that my hair isn't going to stick everytime after I bathe? FYI: I've recently just changed from a quite lousy dandruff control shampoo to head and shoulder's shampoo.

If I wash my hair in the morning, it's already oily by evening. How do I get less greasy hair?

I've been doing hair for 25 years and never have I seen a bunch of people so unable to properly wash their own hair than in the past five years.I had an entire family tell me that shampoo just didn't work for them. I proved them wrong.Every time I go on site to style a wedding, I have to use dry shampoo because their hair is greasy.Shampoo has not changed. Scalp science has not changed. But for some reason, people cannot wash their hair anymore. Here's my suggestion – rinse hair thoroughly. Use a generous amount of shampoo and massage it into your entire scalp in tiny circles. Imagine the circles have covered your entire scalp. When you have covered your entire head, rinse your hair well and do that all over again. Yep: 2 times!Do not lather the ends. You are only trying to clean the scalp.Make sure you have a good conditioner that is not full of wax. Condition & make sure the product is rinsed out well. This new technique may take weeks to clear out oily buildup. Don't give up after the first try.If you follow this advice and still experience oily hair, go to a nice salon for a professional shampoo & blow dry. Ask the stylist if your hair is legitimately 1 day dirty or buildup dirty. We know the moment the water hits your hair. We can smell it and feel it.Still oily? See a dr.
