Why Is My Ubee Modem Keep On Timing Out

Why do the lights of my Comcast modem keep blinking?

The main lights you want on the typical Comcast/Xfinity modem would be the “Power” light and the “Online” light. Both of those should be solid lights, not flashing. If “Power” is blinking then you have no power. If “Online” is blinking then you are not online, but the modem may be trying to find the online signal. As long as “Power” and “Online” are lit solid, the rest may be flashing or solid. Usually flashing would indicate that the option is in use, such as a “Wifi” light blinking may indicate that Wifi is in use. A “Phone” light blinking may indicate that the phone is in use.US/DS stand for Upstream and Downstream. If those are flashing while “Online” is lit solid, it would mean that they are in use. If they are flashing while “Online” is not lit solid then they may indicate that the modem is trying to find the signal to get online.

How do people modify cable modems to get free internet at home?

I dunno about the guy you’re getting your stuff from but clearly they don’t know what the dark web is and how you can get instructions on how to program boxes to work to get you unlimited free internet. And there’s a great chance you WON’T get caught if you know what the heck you’re doing. How do I know?Someone I know has a box and has been using it for YEARS and still using it now completely undetected. Apparently these so called sniffer software that everyone’s talking about isn’t so great. And damn the speeds are FAST! I don’t believe it’s uncapped but it’s enough for gaming on the computer and and console system with ease, no lag, and everyone can share the connection at the same time streaming video. So yeah, where there’s a will there’s a way. You just gotta know who to talk to and these guys clearly aren’t them.

How do you update the firmware on a ubee router (Time Warner)?

On many custom ISP provider modems such as the Time Warner Ubee you don't. The provider pushes out new firmware if they need to on their leased modems. http://www.ubeeinteractive.com/support

If you buy your own modem you can download updated firmware from the modem manufacturer's site.

Here is Time Warner's list of approved cable modems. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/support/topics/internet/buy-your-modem.html

You don't have to buy your modem or gateway from your ISP, you can get one from a local retailer such as BestBuy or Fry's or online from places like Amazon.

As far as the brand goes, the brand is not as important as the model. Some manufacturers release a good model but the next is crap. I would look at the Amazon reviews of models that interest you. Even if you don't buy from Amazon the reviews will tell you a lot about which models to avoid. Look for at least 20 or more reviews with at least a 4 star rating. Read a few and see if they sound like the particular model will work for your application.

Most cable Internet providers use the cable modem's MAC address to activate the modem.

Every device that has a network interface has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. This is usually expressed in hexadecimal such as 10:25:A4:59:EF:1C

You'll have to call your cable provider with the MAC of the new modem so they can activate it on your account. The MAC address is usually printed on a sticker attached to the modem.

Good Luck...

Why does the LED representing the 2.4 GHz spectrum on my modem keep blinking? Is there something wrong?

On many network devices, a blinking light indicates activity, and thus this light blinking indicates that your 2.4GHz WiFi is being used.I can remember back in the day when the LED actually displayed the bits on the wire, but we had to stop doing that because it was actually possible to recover the content off the wire by observing the LED. Ooops.

Can I lease my internet modem for 1 month then "forget" to pay the monthly fee in order to buy a cheaper used modem?

If I understand you correctly, you want to pay your internet monthly fee for just 1 month then stop and then use that savings to buy a new modem?First off, if you stop paying your monthly internet bill they will turn off your internet. So getting a new modem won’t fix the internet shut off. What you might be able to do is to continue paying your monthly internet fee as required and contact your internet provider and ask their tech people what is a better modem for you to buy and will they allow you to swap your new modem for theirs. This is not unheard of. I did it a number of times.Obviously, not every modem will work on their equipment so you need to ask. Also, you can bring in your existing modem and have them check it out. Most likely, they will just give you a new one as they buy lots of of them and swap out lots of them all the time. Your ISP can also check your connection and line and if needed visit your place to check things out.Good Luck!

Why cant my xbox connect to time warner cable wifi?

Word of advice if you are having issues with anything connecting to the internet make sure the information is accurate as well make sure you aren't being leeched on. I have had issues with my Wii U a couple of days ago because someone or something hacked into our internet and changed the password numerous times. Also you might wanna read the manual that came with your console or look up the information on the official people who host the Xbox. I have never touched an Xbox before I'm mostly all Nintendo Sony and Sega boy sorry if this didn't help you.
