Why is shakespeare still relevant today?
Because while the details can grow outdated, the core topics (love, loyalty, power, etc. etc.) never do. However, I'd advise you not to get into forum discussions in which you can't pull your own weight. ;P

Is shakespeare still relevant today?
They reflect life in any century, then and now - think about dysfunctional families, think about King Lear. Think about teenagers who imagine they're in love, think about Romeo and Juliet. Think about sneaky swine spreading gossip and ruining other people's lives, think about Othello. Think about indecisive introverted types creating havoc, think about Hamlet. Think about religious prejudice, think about " the Merchant of venice". The comedies are hilarious - have you ever seen any of them on stage? If not, have you watched them on DVD? They are the funniest plays I have ever seen. The language, and how things are expressed, how very well and cleverly they are expressed. By the way " give me" is rather rude. When you grow up you will learn to use phrases like " Could anyone tell me" or " Can anyone suggest" - then you will not sound so crass. Read some Shakespeare, that'll help.
What Shakespeare plays are still relevant today and why?
All of them are relevant, if you consider the close and careful examination of human psychology — the quicksilver nature of thought, the differentiators among personalities and motives, the capacity to overhear oneself thinking, learn from oneself, adjust and change — “relevant” to the human experience; if you consider the intricacies of political maneuvering and the legerdemain of power “relevant” in an age of political chaos; if you find questions about the role of fate and/or divinity in earthly affairs, or their effect upon human agency “relevant” — whatever the hell “relevant” is.When we say something is “relevant,” we mean it is appurtenant to a question or argument under discussion. Shakespeare’s subject is humankind. If keen and thought-provoking observation of humankind is appurtenant to humankind, Shakespeare is “relevant.”King Lear is about pre-Christian England. And yet surely this speaks to the disparities in the treatment of rich people and mere mortals in modern America:KING LEARWhat, art mad? A man may see how this world goeswith no eyes. Look with thine ears: see how yondjustice rails upon yond simple thief. Hark, inthine ear: change places; and, handy-dandy, whichis the justice, which is the thief? Thou hast seena farmer's dog bark at a beggar?GLOUCESTERAy, sir.KING LEARAnd the creature run from the cur? There thoumightst behold the great image of authority: adog's obeyed in office.Thou rascal beadle, hold thy bloody hand! Why dost thou lash that whore? Strip thine own back;Thou hotly lust'st to use her in that kindFor which thou whipp'st her. The usurer hangs the cozener.Through tatter'd clothes small vices do appear;Robes and furr'd gowns hide all. Plate sin with gold,And the strong lance of justice hurtless breaks:Arm it in rags, a pigmy's straw does pierce it.None does offend, none, I say, none; I'll able 'em:Take that of me, my friend, who have the powerTo seal the accuser's lips. Get thee glass eyes; And like a scurvy politician, seemTo see the things thou dost not.If that is not our world, nothing is. So yes — he’s relevant.
Why are Shakespeare’s plays still relevant?
I think William Shakesseare’ s plays are still relevant because of the beauty of his language. It is quite expressive and the expressiveness holds up even today Some of the most beautiful way with words and phrases. Second only to the King James version of the Bible in my opinions. The characters readers and play goers can still relate to. The gamut of human conflict and emotion are current to present times. Plus human nature is consistent. People can identify with the twists and turns of the characters. As long as there is human nature Shakespeare’s plays will live on,
How are the themes of Shakespeare still relevant today?
There are two ways one approach Shakespeare: 1) Simply as entertaining plays or 2) From the perspective that Shakespeare wrote about the human condition in a format which generally accepted for this era.My personal choice is 2). If you strip away the artifice of the plays themselves, what find are stories with themes which still have profound relevance in our era.For example, Shakespeare’s four great tragedies, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear and Macbeth, all explore facets of human evil.Quoting an English Professor, “If you have played fast and loose, if you have been tongue-tied, a tower of strength, hoodwinked or in a pickle, if you have knitted your brows, made a virtue of necessity, insisted on fair play, slept not one wink, stood on ceremony … laughed yourself into stitches, had short shrift, cold comfort or too much of a good thing, if you have seen better days or lived in a fool's paradise … you are quoting Shakespeare.”Like the Bible, Shakespeare’s works are full of moral dilemmas and religious references that still ring true today.
Is Shakespeare relevant in today's culture?
Of course—I keep thinking about the Capulets and the Montagues and how they are very like the Republicans and Democrats. I also saw “Midsummer’s Night Dream” in Japan just two years ago or so, and we laughed at the madness, but then I was reminded of the madness that we live with everyday.Consider Merchant of Venice—or don’t, but you can read (or hopefully watch) any Shakespeare play, read his sonnets—and see that they still match up.Wait! Watch and older version of Taming of the Shrew and watch modern folk cringe!I am unsure of this question, though, is there some reason to challenge the relevance of Shakespeare?
Is William Shakespeare relevant to today?
Shakespeare wrote about people - and people haven't changed that much. Young men and women still fall in love with people their parents consider inappropriate, just like Romeo and Juliet. The still lust for power, just like Mark Anthony, they still behave foolishly, just as they do in A Midsummer Night's Dream. And it is this factor that makes Shakespeare relevant today and will keep him relevant as long as people interact with each other in the basic relationships of love, hate, fear, pressures of war, and ambition.
I need a hook on an essay about why Shakespeare is relevant today?
