Why Is There Noise And Vibration At The Front End Of My Vehicle

What is a growling noise/vibration in the front end of my 2002 GMC Envoy?

I have had a growling noise/vibration in the front end of my 2002 GMC Envoy for the past several months; it has only begun to get severe lately. It seems to be worst at around 65 mph; I never feel it when coasting or braking, the only time I feel it is when I let off the gas; it vibrates/growls for about 1-2 seconds, then stops. I've tried an alignment, that didn't fix the problem. People have been telling me it's a belt in a tire or a wheel bearing. I'm about to put a set of new tires on and have the rims inspected as well, but I'm curious as to if there's any other issues it might be other the bearings.

Front Left Wheel Vibrates while driving?

When driving even at low speeds my front left wheel area makes a loud vibration noise especially when i got 70+ on the interstate however its noticeable at lower speeds as well. Here's the thing that might help narrow the issue down when i am turning to the right even at high speeds (like a right bend on the interstate) the vibration will stop and car will be very silent like its supposed to. So i tried rotating the front wheel with rear wheel to see if it was a balance issue for that tire but it did not fix anything. Could this be from alignment? i also read it could be a joint or tie rod, whatever that is.

2002 Grand Am front end noise. CV or wheel hub bearing???

A humming noise is indicative of a tire suffering from belt separation or a bad wheel bearing. Try this to help determine origin of humming noise. Drive vehicle on a straight road and listen for noise, when noise is heard, turn steering wheel slightly left and see if noise changes or goes away. Next try turning steering wheel gently right and see if noise changes or goes away. If the noise changes when turning I would suspect a wheel bearing. To confirm, try this: Park vehicle on level ground, apply parking brake and jack up front end of vehicle so front wheels are off the ground. Put a block behind the rear wheels to keep car from rolling backwards. Jack up front end. Put car in neutral and go to either front wheel and turn wheel by hand. Put your other hand on the strut coil assembly and with moderate force squeeze two of the spring coils (Its actually one coil) squeeze them together. You will only be able to squeeze then a quarter inch or so at the most. While squeezing, turn wheel by hand and see if you feel a vibration or growling in the coil spring assembly. If not, go to other wheel and try this. If you do feel a growling or a vibration in the coil spring assembly, that is the wheel with the bad bearing.(Hub assembly)
When you grab the coil spring, use your thumb under one coiled part of the spring and your forefingers on the next coil above it.
This is the best check for bearing "Noise" Try spinning thw front wheels in both directions when doing this. If the bearing is bad, you will feel it growling in the coil spring when the wheel is turning.
Never do this with the vehicle running. Put it in neutral and turn the wheels by hand.
When a CV axle is worn, it will generally make a clicking noise when turning. Inspect the front CV axles and look for grease coming out of the inner and outer boots. Or look for boots that are torn open and all or most of the grease is gone.
I have seen several bad new tires in my day as a technician.
I would not rule out a defective tire yet. Simply try rotating the tires in the front from side to side, see if the noise moves to the other side, also try rotating the front tires to the rear and see if noise changes also. I suspect a wheel bearing is causing this noise.

Why is my car making a loud vibrating noise?

The front end/tires of my Pontiac G5 has been making a loud vibrating noise for the past few weeks. i just had my tires changed a few days ago and the sound is still there. the steering wheel doesnt shake much but i can feel the vibration on the gas pedal, on the steering wheel, on the shifter, on the floor. it starts at around 40 mph and is louder at higher speeds. Could this be an allignment issue? I recently had a recall notice from Pontaic about power stearing but i haven't had any problems with that so far. I dont know what's making this noise but it's quite annoying. It's a loud vibrating, thumping, humming type of noise. Please help!

2004 Dodge Neon Sxt Rattling Noise?

Time for a new car. Sorry to say.

Why causes the front end of a car to shake while driving any speed?

- If you feel the car shaking in the steering wheel, it's coming from the front of the car. - If you feel it in the seat, it's coming from the back of the car.- If you feel it in the brake pedal - it's brake relatedMany things can cause a shake. I'd start doing a general check of the front end of the car. Look for loose/damaged suspension & steering parts, a loose wheel, a bubble in the tire, missing wheel weights, and abnormal tire wear. If all looks and feels normal, then swap your wheels from front to back, and take it for a ride.  If the vibration moved to the rear of the car, you know that your problem is within the wheels/tires. Again, look for bubbles, abnormal wear, missing weights. If all looks normal - get your wheels rebalanced. If your shake didn't move when you swapped your tires, then it has to be in the suspension or steering. Continue looking for loose/worn parts. Tie rods, steering rack, steering stabilizer, struts, shocks, possibly even a seized brake caliper could all cause this. Explore all of those parts until you find your answer.Good luck!

What would cause the front end of your car to wobble?

It depends on when it wobbles. If you feel it at even the slowest speeds and increases with speed, usually a tire separation. If just when you brake, front rotors out of round. If it starts at about 45 mph, goes away about 50, returns about 68, goes away about 75, and about shakes the wheel out of your hands at 135 mph, it's a tire balance. Worn ball joints, tie-rod ends, wheel bearings, damaged half shafts, broken strut bearings, etc. can also cause a wobble, particularly when going over bumps or turning. An alignment will not, in and of itself, cause a wobble, but it will cause tire wear and wear-and-tear on parts that, in turn, can cause a wobble.

Why does the front end of my car shake?

If at highway speeds it could be a tire that threw off a weight and is out of balance, or more likely that your car needs an alignment. If it is shaking that bad it is likely the latter. Also if your car pulls to the left or right then it is almost surely the alignment. If it is off enough to shake that bad get it checked and fixed immediately. Nothing will chew through tires faster than a misalignment. If you notice this while you are braking, then a brake rotor is warped or you have a caliper stuck. If one of your brake calipers are sticking there is an easy way to check. With the BACK of your hand, cannot stress enough that it is the back, place against the wheel near the center. If it is hot to the touch that is normal. If it is very hot that is not. Check all four, although if its shaking its probably one of the front two. If one feels noticeably hotter than the rest there is your guy. PS don’t ever reach through the wheel and touch the disc. Made that mistake once and got burnt pretty good

How do you fix the shaking of the front end of the car?

Shaking of the front end is either wheels out of balance or something loose. So start out looking for WHEN it occurs. If it is at high speed, but never at low speed, you might suspect the wheel/tire balance first. But if it is at lower speeds, and particularly if your definition of “shaking” is like mine, I'd say you have wear in the suspension/steering parts, or possibly just out of alignment (like the supermarket carts with the wobbly wheel since it has been bent under a bit). Take the weight off the front end with a lift or jack stands (never get under a car on the jack) and shake different parts to find the one that moves, and take a bar or something to see whether the wheels will move up and down from loose or worn bearings. All of this s something a tire shop would be good at pin-pointing, as they normally have the equipment and knowledge. But the longer you wait, the higher the bill will be in the end, as the forces will wear out other parts. You may need a simple pitman or idle arm bushing that costs $10, but the forces of the wobbling can damage $500 wheel bearings or $200 ball joints.

2002 dodge neon squeaking/ creaking noises in front right suspension. Creaks most when turning at low speeds.

you need to take it and have a shop put it on a rack and check it,that can be the lower control arm doing that or a ball joint,or even top mount for a strut, the vibration you are feeling may be something getting ready to let go,have a shop check it,there's too many things that could cause that, and driving it like this could be dangerous,to you and others around you, good luck.
