Why Is This Xbox Update So Slow

Why does the Xbox One take so long to install games, updates, DLCs, etc.?

All od the answers provided are correct and some level incorrect. BUT the truth is, the speed of the downloaded games is directly effected according to your console (RPM speed) and of course the dirty internet. For many people the struggle is real when it comes to their internet speed. Depending on your provider, living area, connection to the modem or router, and the speed package you choose at the time of setting up your internet plays a HUGE factor in your download speeds. For starters I would ask you for more information. Like what is your download speed. you can check this by going to Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test This will tell you the download and upload speed. Judging on this number we can figure out what is causing it to be slow. :)

Why is my xbox one updating so slow?

I updated my xbox one last night the last percentage was 39% it was still going slow even until midnight. Today it's still saying 39% as I woke up this morning. Is it normal to do this or are there other problems I should know about if so are there solutions?

Help Xbox one slow update speeds?

I installed ghosts on my One which took long enough and a simple title update came out and it's stuck on 97% for 30 minutes now and won't budge. This has happened with both this and BF4 title updates it takes 1-2 hours to download a simple patch which previously took 1 minute on a 360, 5 with bigger patches. Is this a big problem or is it my internet?

Why is Netflix app on Xbox 360 load so slow!?

Now this only happened recently, but i noticed that my netflix app is taking forever to load on the Xbox 360. Normally, it only takes 15 seconds max to load. But recently, it takes like 2 minutes just to load. However, once the app had loaded everything is as it should with video SD and HD running smooth and fast.I have a 6 Mbps line with the xbox running through the wireless N wifi-N attachment.

Any other xbox 360 netflix users experiencing anything similar to this?
I don't think it's my xbox 'cus everything else is fine. Could it be the netflix server?

My xbox one is so slow for some reason?

I have had my xbox one for a while now, probably like 6 months, and it's been the slowest console I have ever owned, it takes like 35 seconds to open a function and there is a huge chance for it to error out just when looking at the achievements, when I play online it is so laggy it's almost unplayable.

What's going on here, my xbox 360 and wii u have no internet problems at all, and the xbox one is almost un useable it's so slow.

Why is my internet slower on my Xbox One????

So im updating a big file on my xbox and it stating that my internet speed is around 3 to 4 Mbps which is weird because i have an 18 Mbps connection, i just checked on speed test and got a 17mbps on my laptop...can anyone explain to me why my xbox is having a slower connection than my laptop? Both devices are on WiFi

What is my Xbox doing when it is "verifying" an update?

Typically, the verification process does a lot of things at once. Yes, it does verify that the downloaded files are valid (CRC checks, MD5 sum checks, properly code signed), but these checks are usually very quick (less than few seconds each) and not the whole process. You’ll notice that this verification step takes a whole lot longer than a few seconds to verify. It could take several minutes to get through this step. What’s happening is that not only does it perform validation checks of the archive files, but it is also decompressing the archive files to the hard drive. Decompressing a 700MB or 1GB sized file can take some time, particularly when it’s reading the archive file on the same hard drive where it is also decompressing those files. This reading and writing contention together slows down this process. Basically, the majority of the time spent in this step is decompression of the files. This validation also performs individual file validation checks to ensure all of the decompressed files are also valid (i.e., didn’t run out if disk space, CRC checked, etc). The process then walks a dependency tree (and any included manifests) to ensure that all of the files can be installed properly and in the proper order. It may even perform a dry-run test at this step to validate if the installation would succeed before actually proceeding. It likely also sets checkpoints in case the system crashes, reboots or shuts off at this step. There are a lot of safety checks going at this step. The last thing the patch writers want to do is brick a bunch of game consoles or corrupt a game. Instead, they want to be absolutely certain that the patch(es) will install without incident.

Why did Microsoft choose for the Xbox One a GPU that is slow for 1080p games and underpowered compared to the PS4?

As, for a company like Microsoft, it took a giant leap. They showed that Xbox One is not more than just playing games. The Xbox One has occupied the Home Room with its present system. Microsoft and Sony had their CPU's the same but when it comes to GPU's Microsoft considered a little about I don't know. Technologically, speaking they are similar CPU's but PS4 GPU's high power. In simple word, Xbox One has 12 CU while PS4 has 18 CU. And, Microsoft's CPU is clocked at 1.75Ghz where , PS4 has 1.6 Ghz only, Microsoft's ahead. But, speaking on a note, PS4 has high Graphic Power. Another thing, Xbox One, has ESRAM and where the previous version of Xbox 360 has DRAM. When it comes to specifications of each system, each has their own, it's all about how developers use the hardware.Although, it  is tough for Xbox One developers to concentrate on considering about ESRAM while developing games. But, fanboys speaking, PS4 has high raw graphic power.

Why is my internet connection so slow on my Xbox One, when my internet on my PC and phone is pretty fast? I get 30-70 ping on PC, and 70-150 on Xbox.

You are pinging an entirely different server with your Xbox than you are when accessing the Internet at large. To be clear, Wi-fi is vastly overrated. If you're using wi-fi on your Xbox that will create greater latency. In a large home, using wi-fi further than 10 metres from your router, through walls etc will drastically increase the frequency of dropouts and lost connections. Congestion in your ISP's network can also be a factor, particularly with ADSL.Don't worry so much about your Xbox connectivity test - it probably connects to MS in Seattle. For a lot of games that use local or cloud servers, your response rates will actually be far better than in the test - it depends on the infrastructure hosting and supporting the specific game. For Xbox, for any internet connection and a more reliable, quicker connection use one of these:Try to use a good quality LAN cable, more than 1/3 of cheap LAN cables worldwide are made in factories with low quality control or even handmade in prisons. Always use a wired LAN cable connection from your Xbox to your router, particularly if you are hosting games.
