Why my website does not show any Alexa rank?

Alexa ranking system was first introduced in 1998 and, like many things that have been around for a while, several myths have built up around it. What follows is a bit of myth-busting as well as a few pointers about how you can actually improve your rank.Myth 1: Alexa only measures traffic from people who have installed the Alexa toolbar. Not true! Alexa’s measurement panel is based on a very large and diverse set of browser extensions and plug-ins. The Alexa Toolbar is just one of many browser extensions that include Alexa data. And, for sites that have installed the Alexa Certify code, Alexa directly measures traffic from all visitors to the website whether or not they have a browser extension installed.Myth 2: Alexa only measures Internet marketers and site owners. This is related to myth #1. Also, not true! Alexa’s traffic panel is based on millions of people using over 25,000 different browser extensions that appeal to a wide audience.Myth 3: Claiming my site affects its rank. Claiming your site has no effect on rank and you don’t need to claim your site to get measured by Alexa. Claiming your site (which is a free service) and keeping your site description and contact information up-to-date ensures you won’t miss out on any potential business opportunities from the millions of people who visit Alexa every month.Myth 4: Installing an Alexa widget will improve your rank. No, the Alexa rank widgets allow you to promote your site’s rank to your site’s visitors. The widgets are not used to measure a site’s traffic.Myth 5: If my site’s traffic goes up on a particular day, my rank will automatically get better. Not necessarily. The global Alexa Rank is updated daily, but it is based on visitors to your website over the trailing 3 months. So, a day’s worth of traffic is about 1/90th of all the traffic used to rank your site. Also, a site’s rank is relative to other sites. So, changes in traffic to other sites affects your site’s rank as well.Myth 6: If I pay Alexa I can get a better rank. Nope. Though it is true that Alexa’s Pro products can help you get more traffic to your website, which might in turn lead to a better rank. And, if you install the Alexa Certify Code on your website Alexa can directly measure your site’s traffic instead of estimating it. Direct measurement will give your site a more accurate rank, but more accurate does not necessarily

Why is my website's Alexa rank 0?

From my experience the two most common reasons why your Alexa rank is 0 is if you created a new website and you didn’t claim your site or your website traffic is really low for Alexa to give it a rank. Now keep in mind that Alexa needs some time in order to produce those data that you might want.Alexa’s traffic estimates and ranks are based on the browsing behavior of people in our global data panel which is a sample of all internet users.Alexa’s Traffic Ranks are based on the traffic data provided by users in Alexa’s global data panel over a rolling 3 month period. Traffic Ranks are updated daily. A site’s ranking is based on a combined measure of Unique Visitors and Pageviews. Unique Visitors are determined by the number of unique Alexa users who visit a site on a given day. Pageviews are the total number of Alexa user URL requests for a site. However, multiple requests for the same URL on the same day by the same user are counted as a single Pageview. The site with the highest combination of unique visitors and pageviews is ranked #1. Additionally, we employ data normalization to correct for biases that may occur in our data. There are limits to statistics based on the data available. Sites with relatively low measured traffic will not be accurately ranked by Alexa. We do not receive enough data from our sources to make rankings beyond 100,000 statistically meaningful. (However, on the flip side of that, the closer a site gets to #1, the more reliable its rank.) This means that, for example, the difference in traffic between a site ranked 1,000,000 and a site ranked 2,000,000 has low statistical significance. Sites ranked 100,000+ may be subject to large ranking swings due to the scarcity of data for those sites. It is not unusual for such sites to decline to “No data” Traffic Ranks, or to improve suddenly. If you are looking for a way to improve your Alexa ranking then one of the possible solutions can be found here.

Why is one of my websites ranked on Alexa and the other isn't?

Hi Emily,The reason is because Alexa is a measure based on Alexa's Toolabr.Simply, they collect data from users using there own instrument. So, it's not surprising to find a site with many traffic that has lower alexa rank compare to other sites  with less traffic.Theoretically, if site A has 1,000 unique visitors per day without Alexa's Toolabr- he'll get rank of zero .And if site B gets 5 unique visitors per day, he'll get some rank ,and will be with higher Alexa Rank compare to A.it's all depends on the users. therefore Alex is not accurate measure.Another thing is page views, they has to be unique for Alexa. If the same person view the same page 1000 time, it'll count only as one visitor.Read more from my answers here-Why my Alexa Ranking Decreasing day by day?How many types of ranking in seo factor? Why my website is not getting Alexa Ranking?

Hi there. I'll point you to Alexa answering the question:Why is my site’s Alexa Traffic Rank “No data” or “No rank”?Alexa’s traffic rankings are based on the past three months of global traffic measured from our global traffic panel and are updated daily. An overall traffic ranking of “No data”, or “No rank” in the Toolbar, indicates that none of our sources show visits to the site in question during the past three months (as of our last update). It can be you don't have Alexa traffic yet.Does Claiming my site affects its rank? Again from Alexa site:Claiming your site has no effect on rank and you don’t need to claim your site to get measured by Alexa. Claiming your site (which is a free service) and keeping your site description and contact information up-to-date ensures you won’t miss out on any potential business opportunities from the millions of people who visit Alexa every month. So, Claiming  your site will not help you much.Form my experience in new websites, this is because you're not under Alexa radar yet. My advice is to create some backlinks(no follow) from forums of high authority sites and wait. (social signals may take longer time to get discover) eventually Alexa will catch this and your site will be added to the listing.

Alexa rank not showing?

I have a few websites.
One of my sites, i'm guessing because of the title, jumped from 0 to 16m in rank only a few days after I purchased it.
Though, due to lack of content, the rank eventually dropped off to not available.

Now.. I have a lot of content on the site, though still no rank months later.

I have another site that has never earned a rank.

Then I have another site that I dominantly work on, which worked its way to 7m, but due to a host and domain transfer, I had to shut things down for a bit and went back to 8 million.

Once I transferred, I started working in a different way and went from making about 100 visitors per day to 3,000 visitors per day. 2,800 unique.

yet... my rank for this site is only increasing MINIMALLY... seriously slow. Especially for how much traffic i'm getting now.

Comments, likes, google plus, tweets... all of it coming through and my rank is going no where now.

Is there something to do with the transfer?

Google is still crawling my site which is why it's still increasing.. but it's so slow.

Another site I've owned had a steady increase to about 12m, but then one day... just fell off alexa like my other site... though this one actually had traffic the entire time as well as good content.

Any reasons for this?
Any way to fix all of this?

Thanks much

Why is Alexa's rank going down, if the website has good traffic and there aren't any issues with the site?

That’s because Alexa ranking is not always objective nor you should hold it as an anchor for your website. The reason lies in the fact that they need 3 months to produce the results that you might want to see like right now. The second thing not everybody are having their toolbar installed so that is why their rank is not the most objective thing you will find around. In my opinion they only manged to do the good marketing around them and that is why everybody are looking for those rankings when they are selling or buying websites. I would also suggest you to start using SimilarWeb I find it way more appealing for my needs. You could check out this link that might be able to help you out with your Alexa ranking.
