Why do some parents not let their daughters wear tampons?
Ignorance and the worshipping of female virginity.A tampon nearly cost me my job once. I was a brand new and very young teacher, and the only female one to accompany a group of high school students on a field trip. A 16 year-old student asked me for a pad, just as we were about to leave the museum and get back on the bus. I didn’t have one, so I gave her a tampon without a second thought. I assumed she would have objected if this was a problem for her, in which case I would have somehow hunted down a pad for her.The trip happened on a Friday, and on Monday the principal calls me into his office. Some parents called and complained that a teacher at his school had robbed their daughter of her virginity. It’s almost lucky that they phrased it like that, because it left him feeling super relieved once they explained that they were talking about deflowering via tampon. I didn’t actually get in trouble, but the girl’s parents wanted me gone. I don’t even know how they found out about the tampon. Do they regularly go through her trash or do they sit down to dinner every night and ask her what kind of feminine hygiene products she used that day?The girl later apologized for getting me in trouble, but not before telling me that the ride home without sitting on a blood soaked pad were the best period hours of her life. I am glad that they didn’t manage to project their weird complex onto their daughter, because I’ve since encountered many devastated young women who thought that a tampon had cost them their virginity. It would not have been wise to discuss the matter any further with the parents of the field trip girl, but I would have asked them what I’ve asked the young women: How do you think your menstrual blood gets out? If you are worried that a tampon will result in hymen loss, don’t be. That thing doesn’t cover your whole vagina, so a tampon will fit just fine.Hymens even survive intercourse from time to time, but they also perish during gym class or other physical activities. That really shouldn’t be a problem even if you believe that virginity matters, as a virgin is someone who hasn’t had sex. Tampons, cucumbers, your finger, or the torture instruments of a gynecologists do not affect virginity. Sex does, but the whole tampon induced hysteria only looks more ridiculous when you realize that there is no actual difference between virgins and non-virgins.

My Girlfriend Threw Up and I'm worried if she is pregnant?
This morning, she only had a pop tart for breakfast. She ate dinner last night. I visit her at work after a couple of hours and commented me that she threw up. I'm wondering if it has a lot to do with the pop tart she ate cause she said she threw up her pop tart (I forgot to ask if it tasted like it). I want to know if it is possible that she isn't pregnant due to the fact that she is currently having her period, commenting on the cramps and having to use her tampon. She had her period last time as well (4 weeks ago). Please let me know when you guys can. I'm going to have to buy a pregnancy test to be safe. Oh and she uses birth control (its the only contraceptive we use) and was on it for 4 years and never misses a day. Could it be the pop tarts, she even told me not to worry, but I guess its too late for that.
