How can I tell if my email has been blocked?

There are several ways to block peoples email. With Google GMAIL, once they selected your email, and the Spam button, your address is not considered email Spam. So, they will never see your emails again. And you just won’t receive any replies ever, no response back. Because they’ve blocked you. Out-of-site / Out-of-mind.The other way is they filter their email and when they get something form you it goes into their “trash bucket” and again same result. Out-of-site / Out-of-mind.The final way is to block your email and / or domain at the email server or their firewall, in this way you’ll know, because you get a bounce back “Undeliverable” with an error message.

How do I block/blacklist someone's IP address from sending me emails on my personal computer?

With Yahoo you can block him this way. i don't know how with AOL--but it would be similar.

Mail page>>options>>mail options>>click Spam (left side)>>scroll to "block addresses"
Enter his address---click "add block"--click "save changes".
Future emails from his address will be deleted immediately upon arriving at your account---you'll never see them. The sender is NOT notified that he has been blocked, and will think you're still getting his mail---HA---the joke's on him.

He may be using a neighbor to gain internet access---but surely he's using his own individual address. Blocking his address will stop it.
If he's using the neighbor's address to send to you---then block the neighbor's address.

My sinuses are blocked. I tried using a Neti Pot & the water won't go through my nose. Are my sinuses swollen?

You could just be that congested. You can also try putting a bit of a menthol rub on the nose to see if that will help to open you up. My ENT suggested I try rotating ice packs and heat to loosen the mucous (if any) or swelling in the nasal/sinusus area. If the turbunates are that inflamed in the upper part of the nasal passage the ice may help relieve the inflamation. Once it is beginning to move then use the warm salt water and the Netti Pot.

I have 10,102 items in my Yahoo Mail inbox. How can I delete them all at once?

go to yahoo mailType “e” in the search box.Select the “Inbox” dropdown option to the left of the search box.Click the empty checkbox to select all .click deleteclick to confirm when it asks if you want to delete allFor some reason you have to repeat the above 2 or 3 times and then repeat replacing “e” with “a” in step 2, but that gets most of the email, but I just used this to quickly delete 14,000 + emails in the current yahoo mail.

Can my employer see what I write in Yahoo mail?

It is very likely that your employes are monitoring your computer usage at work. 77.7% of major employes monitor their employees' internet, phone, computer and work activities. The rules for workplace monitoring favor employers. There are no federal laws that regulate monitoring employees. Only two states, Delaware and Connecticut, have laws that require employers to notify employees if the company monitors them. This is due to the fact that the computers in the office are supplied for the primary benefit of the company... not the staff person's personal use.

Companies maintain that by utilizing web based mail applications such as Yahoo, Gmail or Hotmail, the employee is putting the business in much greater risk of viruses and worms entering the network.

An American Management Association survey, which involved 526 U.S. companies, states that about 25 percent of employers have fired workers for misusing the Internet; another 25 percent have terminated employees for inappropriate use; and 6 percent have fired employees for misusing office telephones.

And it is very cost effective, at around $10 per employee per year for larger companies. And keeping your passwords safe, clearing your cache and your cookies, and not having your computer remember any passwords will not stop your employer from being able to see what you are up to.

Computer monitoring may include keystoke logging, software monitoring, or applications to view what you see on your monitor. Sniffers placed on networks can also pinpoint employees who are using the network bandwidth by activities such as downloading music or listening to web based radio stations.

My recommendation if you want to be able to check your personal mail from the workplace and protect both your job and your privacy is to have a web enabled mobile device that you own to do this on. If you intend to do this infrequently, then most phones with web access will work for brief usage. If you will be doing this on a frequent basis, then you're better to go with a much faster private method, such as a Treo web enabled device.

How do I stop getting spam emails and advertisement emails (Yahoo Mail)?

Spam can get to you in different ways and it’s important to know those to avoid spam as much as possible:you subscribed to some online websites that resell your email address to dodgy marketing companies. Note that this is not illegal in many countries if this behaviour is specified in their terms & conditions (we all know that nobody read them, they know too)you subscribed to some online websites but never read their newsletters - due to a lack of interaction with those emails, the spam checker will think that are unwanted emails, therefore it’ll move them into spam.spammers can generate random email addresses to send emails, sometimes they create yours and you get dangerous emails. The spam checker anyway will protect you putting those into the spam folder. Now, for the 3rd point there is nothing that you can do but trust your email service provider (ESP), in this case Yahoo Mail, that is marking an email as spam for you.For the first two points, you can act in this way:If in your inbox and spam folders you find legitimate newsletters that you are not interested in, take your time to go through them and click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.(Please, use the unsubscribe link and not the spam button for real companies. Sending them to spam would potentially ruin their business as their reputation will get lower, potentially marking their company as dangerous.)Use filters! - Few people know that modern ESPs give you the possibility to automatically filter and organise incoming emails. For Yahoo Mail, enter your settings and find the section FiltersHere, give a name to your filterSpecify the rules (i.e. if you know a specific email address is used to send you spam, write that address in the “From” field)Select the destination for the email (Delete Items if you want to automatically get rid of the incoming spam)Another useful resource is the Yahoo Mail guideline for spam: Manage spam and mailing lists in Yahoo Mail

Why can't Yahoo improve their spam filter? it sucks?

You can not completely stop all spam, but you can help to put a big dent in it.
First, try not to open any of them, that only makes them send more and more to you.
Check mark them and click on 'Spam,' this should stop those addresses from being delivered to your inbox.
Use your spam filter and block address.
Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it

Options/ mail options / spam preferences
make sure spam guard is on, click on save changes

Options /mail options / blocked addresses
Enter the E-mail address you wish blocked and click on 'add block'
you will never get mail from that address again.
This should help you to control your spam.
Other tips:
Never open E-mail unless you are absolutely sure who it is from.
Never give out your personal information to anyone.
If at a website and you must sign up for something, check the entire page to make sure you uncheck any lines wanting to send you notices, info, or ads.
Hope this helps.
